The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Olicky tries to avoid it but Gomi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Olicky to the ground. Olicky escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yoshiro Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Olicky misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Gomi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Olicky on the side of the head.

Olicky fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gomi to the ground. Olicky is now in Gomi's guard.

Let's hope that Gomi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
