0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Munch! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnett throws a right hand that Munch ducks under and follows up with a left that Munch also avoids with ease. Barnett does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Munch pivots, looking for a leg kick but Barnett is out of range and Munch settles back down. Munch takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Munch looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Barnett misses with a hook to the body
and Munch counters with a single leg into guard. Barnett didn't expect that. Barnett had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Munch defends it easily. Barnett looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Munch lands a couple of decent looking shots. Munch must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Barnett looking for submissions from the bottom here. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Brookins stops Boom from standing up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurrell misses with a body punch
so Wong counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wong postures up.
Wong looking to sit in guard and control but Hurrell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hurrell trying to move into half guard but instead Wong has managed to sweep! Wong looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hurrell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Wong wants to control from the top but Hurrell keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hurrell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hurrell is looking for a kimura but Wong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hurrell to get the leverage. Hurrell escapes and gets back to his feet. Hurrell tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Wong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hurrell scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Wong regains half guard. Hurrell tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Wong trying to control from the bottom.
