The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero shoots in for a double leg but Tiki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Zero clinches with his opponent.

Zero pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tiki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck for Zero with that takedown attempt.
Zero shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sub Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tiki looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Zero manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Tiki tries to clinch but Zero moves out of range.

Zero feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tiki sprawling to the canvas! Tiki rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Zero finish him?!

Tiki is rocked!

It looks like Mahuna Tiki has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zero misses with a lunging right hand

and Tiki counters with a takedown into side control.

Tiki stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Zero cracks Tiki with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Tiki tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Zero pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Tiki is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hathaway throws a solid leg kick but Ramirez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hathaway.

Hathaway changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ramirez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hathaway's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
