Undercard bout

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DJ Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deshaun Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cross comes to the cage accompanied by French. DJ Cross had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 147.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Cross keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cross sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Cross is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jackson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Jackson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cross looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Oh Cross is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cross walks into a jab.
Jackson drops Cross with a straight right hand, right on the button! Jackson follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Samcjez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Paredes manages to avoid it.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

It looks like Paredes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Obrien forces Baine back against the cage and clinches.
Obrien throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Obrien throws a leg kick but Baine sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Obrien throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Obrien displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Baine.

Davis Obrien showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
