Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Emerson Montain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Turk! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Montain avoids it really well and circles away. Montain fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Montain gets the takedown into side control. Montain tries to advance to mount but Turk instead regains half guard. Turk kicks off Montain and gets to his feet. Montain manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Turk on his heels. He'll look to pass Turk's guard now, I'm sure. Turk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Montain is controlling him. Montain postures up in Turk's guard and throws a big left but Turk blocks it. Montain prevents Turk from getting back to his feet. Turk is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montain trying to control the position from guard on top but Turk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Turk scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Montain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Turk is looking to stand up but Montain isn't so interested in that idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montain looking to sit in guard and control but Turk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montain keeping moving, preventing Turk from controlling successfully. Montain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Turk manages to get himself to full guard.
Montain postures up in Turk's guard and throws a big left but Turk blocks it. Montain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Montain working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Turk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Montain is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montain wants to control from the top but Turk keeps moving. Montain engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Turk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Montain is controlling him. Montain trying to stand up but can't free himself from Turk's guard. Montain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Turk works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Montain not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Emerson Montain. Turk stuffs the takedown attempt from Montain. Montain gets slowly back to his feet. Montain decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Montain wants to take a breather but Turk is having none of it. Turk is trying to stand.
Turk manages to escape and get back to his feet! Montain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Turk avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emerson Montain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice jab there from Turk. Montain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Turk.
Turk punishes Montain's body with a nice straight punch. Montain is breathing heavily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Turk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Montain pushes Turk off looking to stand but Turk dives back in and keeps control.
Montain blocking the ground and pound attempt from Turk. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Emerson Montain will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Montain shoots in and drives through. Turk sprawls well. Turk misses with a straight left. Montain tries for a takedown but Turk circles away easily and Turk counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Montain! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Porunov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Porunov misses with the combination.
Porunov fails with a takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Porunov jumps guard but Jones stands there with Porunov around his waist. Porunov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Jones has had enough of the clinch but Porunov keeps him there for the moment. Jones looking for a takedown. Porunov fails to pull guard.

and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Porunov. Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Porunov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Porunov tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Porunov throws a combination that misses and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Porunov! Jones looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Jones scoring with strikes but Porunov is staying in there. Jones with the ground and pound from mount. Jones has control of Porunov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Porunov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Porunov is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemuli misses with a double jab
and Kraft counters with a stiff right hand. Hemuli misses with a body shot
enabling Kraft to counter with a crisp jab. Hemuli throws a right hand that misses
and Kraft connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hemuli falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Kraft to counter with a crisp jab. Hemuli slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Steven Kraft has been cut. Hemuli throws a poor cross that misses
and Kraft counters with a left to the body. Kraft moves into the clinch successfully.

That's better than Kilgore was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kilgore is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Zedowski to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Zedowski shrugs it off. Kilgore is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zedowski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kline gets caught napping as Fisher dives in and scores a takedown. Kline manages to retain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fisher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kline wants to sweep here but Fisher controlling him for the moment. Fisher wants to control from the top but Kline keeps moving. Fisher throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fisher in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kline preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Fisher keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kline's head. Fisher makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kline is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fisher lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Kline utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fisher is looking to advance position but Kline has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Kline is stalling here but it's allowed Fisher to get half guard.
Fisher regains full guard. Nicely done. Fisher keeping moving, preventing Kline from controlling successfully. Fisher wants to stand up but Kline is controlling him.

Fisher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fisher wants to stand and escape but Kline is having none of it. Fisher tries to land a sweep but no joy. Fisher wants to get back to his feet but Kline is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fisher not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kline stalks Fisher and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fisher's face. Fisher staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Spencer Fisher has been cut. Kenny Kline seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fisher with a lazy takedown attempt and Kline counters by moving into the clinch. Kline has Fisher pressed against the cage, preventing Fisher from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Kline prevents Fisher from getting back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kline trying to control but Fisher is working from the bottom. Fisher pulls Kline in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny Kline dominated that round. The cut man is working on Spencer Fisher's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fisher gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kline counters with a slapping leg kick. Kline feints and as Fisher raises his hands in defense, Kline changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fisher keeping full guard, as Kline tries to pass. Kline controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kline lands a couple of decent looking shots. Kline stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fisher swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fisher wants to stand but Kline is controlling the position. Kline trying to control but Fisher is working from the bottom. Fisher is wriggling around but Kline manages to pass to half guard.
Fisher tries to kick Kline off but Kline keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Fisher taking some punishment here, with Kline in his half guard. Kline wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working. Fisher is trying to stand up here but Kline is controlling him well.

Spencer Fisher's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Fisher tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Fisher can't find room to land a body shot as Kline controls the action.

Kline turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kline manages to end up in side control. Kline working away. Fisher is not content to let Kline control the position. Kline is chipping away with strikes.
