The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Puh swings widly with a right hand
and Galdikas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Galdikas. Galdikas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Galdikas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Puh is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Galdikas wants to control from the top but Puh keeps moving. Galdikas engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Puh can't keep his opponent in guard - Galdikas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

and Galdikas counters with a single leg into guard. Puh didn't expect that.

Galdikas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Galdikas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Puh keeps working. Galdikas is keen to just control but Puh is a slippery customer.

Galdikas wants to take a breather but Puh is having none of it. Galdikas scoring with strikes to the body and head. Galdikas passes into side control, despite Puh's attempt to control the position.

Nalle Puh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Galdikas lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Puh down.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Saukko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Poof can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Saukko controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saukko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Poof is keeping the position for now. Saukko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Poof works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Saukko controls the pace of the fight for a moment. He's almost out here... but no, Saukko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Saukko remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Saukko wants to control but Poof is keeping him busy. Saukko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Poof being controlled for a moment.

Saukko breaks from Poof's wrist control and lands an elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Saukko controlling from mount. Saukko is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Saukko extends the arm and Poof is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sammakko shoots in for a double leg but Ultra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sammakko thows a body shot but no joy. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sammakko managing to block the knees to the body from Ultra.

Ultra throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Sammakko tries to land knees in the clinch but Ultra avoids the damage to the body. Sammakko tries to pull guard but Ultra holds him up against the cage and eventually Sammakko drops back down to his feet.
Sammakko throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ultra blocks it with crossed arms. Sammakko goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Ultra lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Ultra misses with a looping left. Nice sprawl there from Ultra as Sammakko shoots in.

Ultra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sammakko slips under a jab. Sammakko misses with a head kick.

Sammakko prevents a body shot from Ultra. A short right from Sammakko on the inside. Ultra cracks Sammakko with a nice body shot. Ultra tries a body shot but Sammakko blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mk Ultra. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ultra, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

That was a close second round but I would say that Martin Gomes will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
