The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Niss misses with a kick to the body and St Pierre counters with a single leg into guard. Niss didn't expect that. St Pierre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Niss has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. St Pierre wants to stand but Niss is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Niss has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes St Pierre off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Niss doesn't manage to clinch there - St Pierre circles away.
Pee Niss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. St Pierre throws a series of punches but Niss avoids them all with ease. Niss manages to get an easy takedown there - catching St Pierre on his heels. He'll look to pass St Pierre's guard now, I'm sure. St Pierre is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pee Niss just wasn't active enough. St Pierre stuffs the takedown. Niss throws a body kick, spinning off balance and St Pierre moves into the clinch. Niss digs a right hand into St Pierre's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on St Pierre's gas tank. Niss drags the fight down to the ground.
Niss bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in St Pierre's guard. St Pierre being controlled here, momentarily. Niss is looking to work some ground and pound but St Pierre has wrist control.

Niss lands a nice shot to the body. Niss ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Niss no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Niss is looking to sinch up a triangle. St Pierre throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Niss's body to avoid the submission. Niss has instead reached around St Pierre's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Niss arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Possible misses with a takedown and Hearns counters with a two punch combo. Hearns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Possible was well out of range. Poor timing from Hearns. Hearns throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Possible gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hearns counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hearns drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hearns is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Possible wants to sweep here but Hearns controlling him for the moment. Possible jumps back into Hearns's guard. Hearns keeping moving, preventing Possible from controlling successfully. Hearns is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Possible is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Possible prevents Hearns from getting back to his feet. Hearns is trying to control the position but Possible postures up. Hearns looking for a sweep. Not yet Hearns, not yet. Possible won't allow Hearns to get back to his feet. Possible wants to control from the top but Hearns keeps moving. Hearns managing to control the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tommy Hearns wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hearns shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Possible is trying to defend but Hearns finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hearns throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Possible defending well though. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hearns connects with a nice short shot to Possible's temple. Well, if Hearns is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Alkofer misses its intended target. Alkofer feints and then cracks Jung's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jung down. Alkofer throws a leg kick but Jung moved away. Alkofer swinging wildly here.
Alkofer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jung is out of range. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jung checks a leg kick. Jung gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jung takes a shot right to the bread basket. A jab from Alkofer misses. Alkofer misses with a wild body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jung. Alkofer is trying to get back to his feet. Jung wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alkofer keeps working.

Jung has control of Alkofer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alkofer regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lowal misses with a right hand and Ikaika counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ikaika takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lowal throws a looping overhand right but Ikaika ducks down to avoid it. Lowal throws an off balance right hand
and Ikaika counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ikaika rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lowal counters with a one-two to the body. Ikaika throws a body punch but Lowal moves out of range. Lowal throws a combination that misses and Ikaika connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Lowal shoots in looking for a takedown. Ikaika tries to sprawl out of it but Lowal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ikaika manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lowal throws an ugly left hook that misses

Lowal is looking for a kimura but Ikaika is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lowal to get the leverage. Lowal is trying to control the action in half guard but Ikaika is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

They are putting on a show! Alves misses with a hook. Aukanaii ducked under it nicely. Alves throws a right and a left that both miss. Alves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
