The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Pain's jab looks to have found its range, popping Villa under the eye. Pain lands with a hook. Villa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Pain lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Villa. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Villa misses with the ground and pound. The ground and pound from Villa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Villa is trying to ground and pound but Pain uses the momentary lack of control by Villa to regain half guard. Villa sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pain defending well though. Villa thows a huge punch but Pain dodges it nicely.
Pain is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Villa pulls his head out easily. Villa looks to land a strike but Pain avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Pain keeping moving, preventing Villa from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Villa with a flurry of punches that miss. Villa distracts Pain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Villa's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Villa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Villa wants to pass the guard but Pain is keeping the position. Villa is working Pain over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Villa postures up in Pain's guard and throws a big left but Pain blocks it. Villa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pain trying to control the position.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heero Yuy! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yuy throws a series of punches but Myles moves out of range. Yuy shoots in and drives through. Myles sprawls well. Yuy is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Myles. Myles throws a body punch but Yuy moves out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Myles. Yuy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Myles can pounce on him.
A jab from Yuy misses. A solid body kick from Myles. Nice cross by Myles. Myles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! No joy there for Yuy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Yuy looks to land a combination but Myles avoids it well. Myles connects with a leg kick. Yuy looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. A head kick by Yuy misses and Yuy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Myles, as that shot connected.
Yuy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Myles avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myles digs a good body shot into Yuy's ribs. Myles lands with a shot to the body. Yuy looks gassed! Myles thuds his shin into the meat of Yuy's side. Myles throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. A solid leg kick lands there for Myles.
Myles lands a nice shot that snaps Yuy's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Myles lands a jab to the nose. Myles lands with a thumping leg kick.
Myles turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Yuy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Myles thuds his right hand into Yuy's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Heero Yuy has been cut. Yuy takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Yuy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myles scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Myles getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Whack! Myles lands a heavy head kick that drops Yuy. The ref tackles Myles to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Yuy was done.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Roth tries for a takedown but Machida circles away easily and Machida counters with a body kick. Roth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Machida avoids it really well and circles away. Machida throws a left that rocks Roth and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Machida dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Roth regain composure!
It looks like Daniel Roth has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roth tries to buck Machida off but Machida is having none of it. Roth is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Machida off and has taken his back! Machida finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes. Machida working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Roth are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Machida tries to bench press Roth off him but Roth keeps the position. Roth fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Machida regains half guard there - taking advantage of Roth's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Roth prevents Machida from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Machida is refusing to be controlled, as Roth sits in half guard. Roth is working for a kimura here but Machida manages to reverse the position and he's now in Roth's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Daniel Roth will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Daniel Roth's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Roth crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Machida - the referee stops the clock and Roth gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Machida. Roth manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Lyoto Machida is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck with that takedown attempt from Roth. Machida with a nice cross. No luck for Roth with that takedown attempt. Roth shoots for a takedown but Machida saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lyoto Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Roth. A slapping body kick lands there for Machida. Machida scores with the left hand. Roth knows he should have avoided that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machida displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roth. Machida ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Roth walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Machida scores with a nice body kick.
Roth is breathing heavily. A head kick misses from Machida. Machida gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Machida lands a left hand that snaps the head of Roth backwards. Machida pushes Roth back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Machida lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Roth backwards. Machida pushes off with a quick right hook! Roth goes down! Roth tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Machida moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

and Freyr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gallo looks to land a combination. Freyr sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Gallo avoids the body shot from Freyr.
Freyr moves into the clinch. Freyr lands on the inside with an uppercut.
It looks like Ryan Gallo has been cut. Freyr throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Gallo fails to pull guard.
