The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Landry enables Uthaisk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Landry manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Uthaisk with a flurry of punches that miss. Uthaisk connects with a couple of short punches. Landry is looking to stand up but Uthaisk isn't so interested in that idea. Uthaisk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Landry is keeping the position for now. Uthaisk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Landry works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Uthaisk trying to control but Landry is working from the bottom. Uthaisk wants to stand and escape but instead Landry has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Landry trying to control but Uthaisk is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Landry can do anything to dispel that myth. Landry is looking to get to half guard. Landry wants to try and get back to his feet.

Uthaisk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Landry is one step ahead there. Landry wants to control from the top but Uthaisk keeps moving. Landry is in close to Uthaisk's body, working some short punches and elbows. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Uthaisk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Uthaisk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Landry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Landry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Uthaisk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uthaisk has his foot on Landry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Landry works his way back into a safe position though. Uthaisk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Landry defends well. Uthaisk keeping moving, preventing Landry from controlling successfully. Landry postures up in Uthaisk's guard and throws a big left but Uthaisk blocks it. Landry wants to pass the guard but Uthaisk is keeping the position. Landry stopping the sweep attempt from Uthaisk. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Landry's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Landry must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Landry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Landry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uthaisk swivels though and keeps the full guard. Uthaisk working for a triangle but Landry defends it easily.

Uthaisk ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Uthaisk takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Landry leaves Uthaisk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Landry drops Uthaisk with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Uthaisk looks back up at him and smiles so Landry waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Landry stuffs the takedown. Landry defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Uthaisk. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thuansh Uthaisk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Landry walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Uthaisk drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Landry swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Uthaisk's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes throws a right hand that Marchegiano ducks under and follows up with a left that Marchegiano also avoids with ease. Marchegiano bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reyes's head. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Reyes. Marchegiano misses the shot to the body. Reyes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marchegiano tries to avoid it but Reyes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marchegiano to the ground. Marchegiano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Reyes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marchegiano was well out of range. Poor timing from Reyes. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if White tries to get out of the position. White gets back to half guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mathers will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Villa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mathers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mathers throws a series of punches but Villa moves out of range. Villa throws a head kick that misses. Mathers throws the left hand but Villa avoids the punch easily. Mathers tries to land a leg kick but Villa saw it coming and moves away.

Mathers keeping moving, preventing Villa from controlling successfully. Mathers is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Villa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Villa wants to control from the top but Mathers keeps moving. Villa wants to stand and escape but instead Mathers has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Mathers is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mathers won't allow Villa to sweep him here.

Mathers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Villa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mathers. Villa checks the leg kick nicely there.

Villa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sloppy strikes from Villa. Those never looked like landing. Villa avoids the head kick by Mathers.
Villa is looking to land body kicks. Villa throws a right hand that Mathers ducks under and follows up with a left that Mathers also avoids with ease.

Villa tries to clinch but Mathers moves out of range. Villa takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A jab lands there for Mathers. Mathers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Villa. That did some damage! Mathers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Villa's calf. Villa tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Mathers throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Villa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Villa is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Villa slips a jab from Mathers. Marshall Mathers is winning the standup battle so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villa throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A head kick misses from Mathers. Villa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mathers fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Villa is out of range. A lazy body kick from Villa and Mathers counters with a low kick, right behind Villa 's knee. Mathers avoids a kick to the body.
Mathers throws a front kick that sends Villa stumbling back into the cage. Mathers keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Villa. Marshall Mathers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mathers stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Mathers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Villa fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Both fighters circling a little - Mathers finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mathers lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd cheers as Mathers lands an impressive looking overhand right. Villa doesn't seem phased though. Mathers cracks Villa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mathers buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Villa tries to move into range but Mathers moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Villa is looking to clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Villa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mathers finds it's way round the side to connect with Villa's head.
Villa is rocked! That kick from Mathers tenderised Villa's leg. Villa is trying to keep his angry face on. Villa is still on wobbly legs! Can Mathers finish him? Villa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mathers. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marshall Mathers dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Villa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mathers finds it's way round the side to connect with Villa's head. Villa gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Mathers gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Villa is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
