Penn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Bishop makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bishop. Bishop had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Penn defends it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bishop trying to control the position here. Bishop manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Penn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thomson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Thomson trying to control but Fengap is working from the bottom. Fengap has his foot on Thomson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomson works his way back into a safe position though. Thomson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fengap is looking for a triangle but Thomson pushes his legs off easily.

Belov swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Belov shoots in and bounces Ring off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Belov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring wants to sweep here but Belov controlling him for the moment. Belov's corner is telling him to maintain position. Belov wants to control from the top but Ring keeps moving. Belov lands a couple of elbows. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ring looking to control.
Ring is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Belov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
