1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pablo Diablo! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diablo looks to clinch and Ewert counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Diablo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ewert swats him away and circles back towards the center. Diablo slips a jab and a cross from Ewert.
Ewert looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ewert moves into the clinch successfully.
Diablo is trying to break free. Diablo pulls guard. Diablo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ewert gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ewert stands and steps away. Diablo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Ewert tries to clinch but Diablo is having none of it. Diablo shoots for a double leg takedown but Ewert sprawls well. He's pushed Diablo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Diablo tries to close the distance and clinch but Ewert swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ewert gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ewert stalling in the clinch but Diablo improves position. Ewert is pressed up against the cage. Diablo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ewert down to the mat. Ewert avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Diablo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Ewert tries to clinch but Diablo moves out of range. Diablo stalks Ewert and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ewert's face. Ewert staggers backwards, shaken.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ewert keeps the fight on the outside. Ewert shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Diablo defends it nicely. Diablo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Diablo looks gassed! Ewert looking for a triangle here. Diablo is fighting it but it looks tight! Ewert pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Diablo is tapping out - this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Deleon looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Deleon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Deleon clinches up with Malyszowski and pushes him back against the cage. Deleon looking to stall.

Deleon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Malyszowski lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Deleon throws a series of strikes that have Malyszowski backpedaling.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Deleon slows the pace down. Deleon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Malyszowski to his feet. Malyszowski keeps the fight on the outside. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Deleon wants to clinch up but Malyszowski keeps it at a distance. Deleon wants to clinch. Deleon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Malyszowski, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deleon goes for a takedown attempt but Malyszowski pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Welsh connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nikolaev. Nikolaev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Valera Nikolaev has been cut. Welsh ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Welsh's corner calls for a 1-2. Welsh obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Welsh lands with a nice combination. Nikolaev backs away looking to recover.
Nikolaev is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nikolaev loses concentration momentarily and Welsh pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Nikolaev crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Welsh finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Lenin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Lenin is trying to maintain a safe position but Jag gets an underhook and turns Lenin into the cage. Sapp had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kaluma defends it easily. Kaluma throws a big right hand that misses. Kaluma throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sapp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kaluma doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sapp is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kaluma with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
