The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creed throws a right and a left that Yashigawa avoids nicely. Creed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Creed shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Yashigawa counters with a single leg into guard. Creed didn't expect that. Yashigawa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Creed looking to control.
Yashigawa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Creed pushes a forearm under Yashigawa's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Yashigawa is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benditson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hayes sprawls well. Hayes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Benditson gets slowly back to his feet. Hayes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayes is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Benditson! Hayes scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Benditson?

This has been an exciting period of action! Hayes tries to buck Benditson off but Benditson is having none of it.

Hayes sprawls well initially but Benditson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Nate Benditson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Benditson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hayes slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

He hasn't managed just yet though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hayes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hayes is looking for a kimura here.
