Tondeum Malevolente has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Stolbov.

Santos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Santos misses with a two punch combination.
Calvancante looking to score a takedown here. Santos is defending well but Calvancante drives through and ends up in Santos's guard.
Calvancante drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Calvancante jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Calvancante slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Calvancante is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Calvancante has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Santos is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Calvancante yanks on the arm and Santos is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Calvancante.

and Lee counters with a single leg into guard. Shleifer didn't expect that. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Shleifer controls Lee momentarily but Lee frees himself. Shleifer keeping full guard, as Lee tries to pass. Shleifer controlling Lee's posture. Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shleifer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Shleifer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Shleifer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! You can see the frustration on Shleifer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Andrei Shleifer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shleifer using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lee has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Cook wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Khalidov gets slowly back to his feet. Cook scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Khalidov is defended easily by Cook. Damien Cook has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Khalidov. Cook stuffs the takedown. This has been an exciting period of action! Khalidov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cook lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khalidov circles away quickly and effectively.
