Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between George Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Marine Corps Hymn. Butler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fuck You. Paul Butler told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis clinches. Both fighters working to control the clinch. A nice left hand lands by Davis.
Butler tries to stall but Davis uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Butler seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks. Davis leaning his opponent against the cage. Davis softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Davis working aggressively here.
Butler is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Davis with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Butler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Butler fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Davis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Nice defenses there by Davis. Butler defending well as Davis loads up on a big left hand. Butler comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Butler swings and misses with a hook to the body.

George Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Butler was well out of range. Poor timing from Davis. Butler swings for the body but Davis moves out of range.

Davis turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Butler manages to get back to half guard. Butler gets full guard. Butler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davis defends well. Davis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Butler works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Butler trying to control the position.

Butler lunges at Davis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Davis's hand. Butler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Davis manages to avoid it. Davis scores with the left hand. Butler knows he should have avoided that one. Davis loads up on a big right hand but Butler slips the punch. Butler misses with a hook.

Davis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Butler has time to react. Davis tries to clinch but Butler is having none of it. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mont Alvernne clobbers Klitschko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Klitschko throws a half hearted mid kick. Klitschko buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mont Alvernne walks into a stiff left hand from Klitschko. Klitschko cracks the inside of Mont Alvernne's front leg. Mont Alvernne throws a lazy right hand but Klitschko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mont Alvernne misses with a leg kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Klitschko.

Fury shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Fury throws an overhand right that lands on Moon's shoulder, as Moon tries to avoid the shot. A slow jab from Moon misses its intended target. Fury throws a leg kick and Moon counters with a takedown into side control. Moon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fury keeps working. Moon throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Fury managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Moon.
Moon wants to control but Fury is keeping him busy. Moon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fury struggling a bit here. Fury tries to buck Moon off but Moon is having none of it. Fury parries the strikes from Moon easily there. Moon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Fury to escape.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Meighen drops his hands momentarily and Boyce takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Meighen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boyce. The fighters circling - Meighen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Meighen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boyce.

Boyce clobbers Meighen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Boyce has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Meighen. Boyce lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Meighen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boyce was well out of range. Poor timing from Meighen. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meighen finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Arthur Meighen had his way with Tommy Boyce in that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
