The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valdes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Valdes lands an elbow that stopped Beano in his tracks for a moment. Beano has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Valdes regains guard immediately. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Beano trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valdes wants to stand but Beano is controlling the position. Beano working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Beano with a nice head shot there. Beano forces his way into half guard. Valdes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Valdes is trying to stand back up but Beano is controlling him

Valdes is in trouble now - Beano has advanced to mount! Beano has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Valdes's face.

Valdes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Beano is looking for a triangle but Valdes pushes his legs off easily.
Valdes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Beano has his foot on Valdes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Valdes works his way back into a safe position though. Beano has a closed guard, preventing Valdes from standing up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice takedown defense from Valdes. No joy for Beano on that attempt. Ace Valdes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick by Valdes misses and Beano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valdes's guard. Valdes should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saxon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Saxon working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Saxon is in close to Layden's body, working some short punches and elbows. Saxon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Layden keeping moving, preventing Saxon from controlling successfully. Saxon forces his way into half guard. Saxon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Saxon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Layden with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Diao is trying desperately to improve position. Hansen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Diao tries to hold on but Hansen postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diao is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hansen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Diao's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Hansen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gunner Hansen wasn't active enough on the ground. Hansen takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Nope, Diao circles away and we're back to standing. Diao pulls out of a head kick attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Diao displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hansen throws out the jab. Kai Diao is winning the standup battle so far. Hansen moves out of range as Diao strikes. Hansen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Diao thows a body shot but no joy. Diao cracks a nice hook into Hansen's ribs. Diao paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Diao throws out a leg kick but Hansen moves out of range and Diao only half commits.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diao stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Diao gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Diao is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Diao wants to sweep but no luck. Diao managing to control the position. Hansen passes into half guard. Hansen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diao doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hansen. Diao might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hansen is taking a breather. Diao says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Diao is trying to stand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hansen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Kai Diao will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Diao misses with a low kick as Hansen jumps back. Diao connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Hansen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster dives in and grabs Padalecki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Padalecki pushes down on Foster's head and hops out. Foster walks into a straight right hand from Padalecki. Foster takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Foster tries to score with a low kick but Padalecki moves his leg out of the way. Padalecki throws an overhand right that lands on Foster's shoulder, as Foster tries to avoid the shot. Padalecki takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Foster rushes Padalecki and presses him up against the cage. Padalecki manages to pull guard.
Foster wants to control from the top but Padalecki keeps moving. Padalecki is working an open guard so Foster takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nice defenses there by Foster. Foster fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Foster checks a leg kick. Foster closes the distance and clinches up with Padalecki, looking for a takedown. Foster pushes Padalecki against the cage but Padalecki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carling Foster. That's going to take a lot out of him. Padalecki scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Padalecki gets tackled into the cage by Foster. Foster maintains the clinch. Foster has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Padalecki after a bit of a struggle. Padalecki tries for a takedown but Foster manages to get underhooks.

Frost throws the left hand but Dirk avoids the punch easily. Frost comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dirk moves to clinch but Frost breaks away and Frost connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Dirk misses with a head kick.
Dirk tries to clinch but fails miserably and Frost counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dirk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Frost, pushing him back against the cage. Frost changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dirk fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dirk uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Frost. Fred Dirk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dirk closes the distance looking to clinch and Frost counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Frost.

Bilko defends it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kent is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bilko is aware though and is defending well.
