4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kappi Bateman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jessie Hartin! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hartin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bateman moves away. Bateman moves out of range of the strikes. Bateman tries to clinch there but Hartin circles away.
Hartin throws a front kick aimed at Bateman's knee but Bateman avoids it well. Bateman jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bateman keeps the fight on the outside. Hartin throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hartin tries a head kick but it misses.
Hartin clobbers Bateman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Bateman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Hartin throws a right and a left that Bateman avoids nicely. Bateman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A punch combination from Hartin misses. Bateman thows a body kick. Hartin tries to catch it but that hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circling - Hartin throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bateman tries to move into range but Hartin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Bateman lands with a right hand. Hartin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bateman. Hartin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bateman circles away quickly and effectively. Hartin throws a head kick but Bateman moves out of range.
Bateman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hartin finds it's way round the side to connect with Bateman's head. Hartin looks to land a body kick but Bateman moved away. A good leg kick by Bateman. Bateman lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hartin will feel that in the morning. Bateman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bateman gets a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bateman digs a right hand into Hartin's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hartin's gas tank. Hartin looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! The referee calls for Bateman to work.
Hartin misses with a hook from the clinch. Hartin doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bateman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hartin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bateman back to the cage. Hartin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Hartin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bateman counters with a straight right hand. Hartin wants to clinch. Hartin misses with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hartin misses with a hook. Hartin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Jessie Hartin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hartin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bateman makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hartin really felt that one! Hartin throws a lazy head kick and Bateman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Whack! Bateman lands a heavy head kick that drops Hartin. The ref tackles Bateman to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Hartin was done.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babineaux changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brasil tries to avoid it but Babineaux manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brasil to the ground. Brasil escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Brasil looks for the body kick but Babineaux saw that one coming. Babineaux lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Babineaux fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Brasil is out of range. Babineaux shoots for a takedown but Brasil saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brasil shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Babineaux pinned against the cage. Babineaux gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Brasil tries to clinch but Babineaux is having none of it.

Brasil buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Nice body punch from Brasil. Wyatt Babineaux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vince Brasil is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Wyatt Babineaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brasil looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Babineaux is fending him off so far but Brasil persists. Nope, Babineaux circles away and we're back to standing.
And that's the end of the fight! Vince Brasil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brasil has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meridio moves in looking to clinch but Fitzroy pushes him off. Fitzroy looks to throw a body kick and Meridio decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fitzroy's guard. Meridio engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Meridio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fitzroy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Meridio trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fitzroy's guard. Fitzroy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Meridio controls the pace. Fitzroy looking for a guillotine here but Meridio defends easily.
Fitzroy looks gassed! Meridio slips nicely into half guard. Meridio looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meridio scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Meridio looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fitzroy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Meridio frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fitzroy is in all sorts of trouble here.

Fitzroy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Meridio is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Meridio fails to land the takedown. Joseph Fitzroy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meridio looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meridio dives in and grabs Fitzroy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fitzroy pushes down on Meridio's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alessio Meridio. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fitzroy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Meridio dips to his left and cracks Fitzroy with an uppercut! Meridio shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Meridio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Meridio will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fitzroy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Meridio to the ground. Fitzroy is now in Meridio's guard. Fitzroy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Meridio shoots for a double leg takedown but Fitzroy sprawls well. He's pushed Meridio's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Fitzroy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Meridio tries to avoid it but Fitzroy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Meridio to the ground. Meridio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Meridio fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fitzroy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Meridio on his heels. He'll look to pass Meridio's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Meridio wants to stand up but Fitzroy is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fitzroy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Meridio's guard. Meridio wants to get back to his feet but Fitzroy is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Meridio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fitzroy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fitzroy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fitzroy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fitzroy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Meridio is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Meridio is looking for a triangle but Fitzroy pushes his legs off easily.
Fitzroy wants to control from the top but Meridio keeps moving. Meridio pushes a forearm under Fitzroy's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Fitzroy is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

The crowd seem to be enjoying Boose's choice of entrance music: Feel the Rush by Talib Kweli. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belfort is looking to slow Boose down with leg kicks. Boose looks to score with a jab to the body but Belfort is just out of range. Boose swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Boose tries to work over Belfort's front leg with a kick but Belfort checks it. Boose has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Belfort. Boose looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Belfort ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Boose thows a leg kick but Belfort checks it and Belfort counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Eric Boose has been cut. Eric Boose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belfort steps into range and cracks Boose with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Boose flops backwards and Belfort dives into his guard looking to finish!
Boose is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Boose has a closed guard, preventing Belfort from standing up. Boose is still in real trouble! Can Belfort finish him? Boose seems to have recovered his senses. Belfort will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boose is on top in guard.
Boose is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boose stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belfort swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boose working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boose wants to pass the guard but Belfort is keeping the position. Boose is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boose keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

and Belfort counters with a nice body kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Belfort. Belfort lands with a right hand.
That has opened up Eric Boose's cut even more. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Belfort throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Boose tumbling to the canvas! Belfort has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boose is proving hard to escape from. Boose looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belfort wants to get up but he can't break Boose's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Boose has his hands on Belfort's head, controlling the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Boose throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Belfort thows a left - swing and a miss! Boose should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Boose throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Belfort on the side of the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Boose throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Belfort counter with a right hand.
Eric Boose's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Boose connects with a body shot that sends Belfort's belly button to the back. Danga de danga de dang - Boose scores with a four punch combination! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vitor Belfort dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eric Boose's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spaghetti fails with the takedown. Spaghetti looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well. Spaghetti shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Spaghetti keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddy Spaghetti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith shoots in and drives through. Spaghetti sprawls well. Smith closes the distance and clinches. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dread scores with a punch to the head. Dread does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Robert Sarian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab by Dread. Sarian changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dread looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sarian has hold of Dread's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Dread seems comfortable defending it but Sarian has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Dread is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dread is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sarian couldn't care less - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grubas is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Wielki Grubas has been cut. Grubas looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Grubas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marduk sprawls well. Marduk wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grubas gets slowly back to his feet. Marduk lands a leg kick that knocks Grubas off balance momentarily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marduk looking to score a takedown here. Blacklands shoots in looking for a takedown but Hansen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Blacklands's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hansen tries to bum rush Blacklands with a series of wild strikes but Blacklands uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Blacklands slips under a jab from Hansen. Hansen looks to score with a jab to the body but Blacklands is just out of range. Blacklands with a poor takedown and Hansen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hansen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hansen looks to land a left hand but Blacklands moved out of range nicely. Blacklands needs to keep his hands up - Hansen had a free shot at his head there. Hansen lands a left and a right that send Blacklands crashing to the mat, dazed. Hansen thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leon Hansen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Hansen sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Blacklands's defenses. It connects perfectly with Blacklands's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
