The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Sakurai circles away.
Smith on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sakurai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sakurai stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Sakurai throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.

Smith bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Sakurai ! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Sakurai is rocked!

It looks like Takanori Sakurai has been cut.

Sakurai pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Priestley lands with a hook. Poundre tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Priestley fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Poundre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Poundre swings around for an armbar but Priestley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Poundre's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poundre manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Priestley blocking the ground and pound.
Poundre thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Priestley is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Priestley wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Poundre.

Poundre swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Priestley is now in Poundre's guard. A big mistake from Poundre there, giving up the dominant position!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Poundre isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Priestley stacks Poundre on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Priestley!
