The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tippin closes this distance looking for a takedown but De Souza Da Lima circles away. Tippin shoots in but no luck this time. De Souza Da Lima looks to land a combination. Tippin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Pete Tippin has been cut. De Souza Da Lima changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tippin tries to avoid it but De Souza Da Lima manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tippin to the ground. Tippin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. De Souza Da Lima looks for a takedown but Tippin sprawls well. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! De Souza Da Lima tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tippin swats him away and circles back towards the center. De Souza Da Lima gets in close and instigates a clinch. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tippin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tippin moves in looking to clinch but De Souza Da Lima pushes him off. De Souza Da Lima closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tippin to the mat! Tippin manages to get full guard. Tippin keeping full guard, as De Souza Da Lima tries to pass. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tippin is on top in guard.
De Souza Da Lima is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tippin is controlling him. De Souza Da Lima is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tippin can do to turn this around? Tippin showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Tippin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Tippin throwing strikes but missing. Reko De Souza Da Lima overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tippin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Tippin works the jab nicely. De Souza Da Lima shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tippin but Tippin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tippin throws a push kick but De Souza Da Lima slaps the foot to one side. Tippin misses with a jab, cross combination.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tippin tries to score a power double leg takedown but De Souza Da Lima sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tippin somewhat. Pete Tippin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reko De Souza Da Lima is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tippin looks to land a left hand but De Souza Da Lima moved out of range nicely.

I think Tompkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dying Fetus - One Shot, One Kill. Tyzzkling comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dagger (mustasch) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Peter Tyzzkling is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Tyzzkling is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Tompkins works a leg free and moves into half guard. Tyzzkling is still in real trouble! Can Tompkins finish him? Tompkins is controlling the pace.

It looks like he's just sitting there. Tyzzkling seems to have recovered his senses. Tompkins trying to pass the guard but Tyzzkling defending well. Tompkins is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Steve Tompkins. Tyzzkling keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tyzzkling throws a body punch but Tompkins moves out of range.

The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Tompkins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tompkins slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Tompkins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Tyzzkling had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tompkins defends it easily. Tyzzkling looks gassed!

Tompkins shoots in looking for a takedown but Tyzzkling manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tompkins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tyzzkling takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Tyzzkling gets caught napping as Tompkins dives in and scores a takedown. Tyzzkling manages to retain guard. Tompkins controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Tompkins is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Tompkins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Tompkins tries to free his leg and advance position but Tyzzkling is retaining full guard. Dir tries to free his leg and advance position but Drogo is retaining full guard. Dir is looking to work some ground and pound but Drogo has wrist control. Drogo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dir content to stall in guard here. Drogo controlling Dir's posture. Dir passes Drogo's left leg - he's now in half guard. Drogo leaves Dir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dir is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Drogo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Drogo moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Dir fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Drogo avoids it really well and circles away. Drogo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gubiev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Matador pinned against the cage. Matador gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gubiev throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gubiev is defended easily by Matador. Gubiev throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Matador fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gubiev could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gubiev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Matador throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gubiev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matador doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matador manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Matador trying to control but Gubiev is working from the bottom. Matador thows a big elbow that misses. Matador is working Gubiev over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Gubiev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Matador distracts Gubiev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Matador throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gubiev works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Matador's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Matador throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gubiev is not content to let Matador control the position. Gubiev looking for submissions off his back. Matador seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gubiev is wriggling around trying to escape.
