The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heydrich lands a left and a right that send Castro crashing to the mat, dazed. Heydrich thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Alejandro Castro has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Heydrich has managed to clinch.
A short right from Heydrich. Castro tries for a takedown but Heydrich manages to get underhooks.
Heydrich lands a left hand that snaps the head of Castro backwards. Heydrich escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Heydrich presses Castro against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Heydrich breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kurt Heydrich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Heydrich lands a big head kick that sends Castro tumbling to the mat! Heydrich takes a step backwards and waves Castro back to his feet - he wants the finish! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Heydrich throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Castro is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the ropes! Wow!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fowler fails in his attempt to clinch. Fowler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. James was covering up waiting for the punch and Fowler finishes the takedown easily into guard. James is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fowler is looking to stand up but James won't let him. James avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet. James has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Fowler doesn't defend quickly enough and James has managed to lock this one up! Can Fowler escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to James on a fantastic submission victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Marchione is predictable there and Sukunimi counters with a head kick. Marchione blocks a head kick by Sukunimi.
Sukunimi throws a sloppy head kick and Marchione moves out of range easily. Marchione digs a good body shot into Sukunimi's ribs. An inside leg kick from Marchione misses. Sukunimi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marchione. Marchione shoots in looking for a takedown. Sukunimi tries to sprawl out of it but Marchione keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Sukunimi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice sprawl there from Sukunimi as Marchione shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Marchione. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marchione looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sukunimi is fending him off so far but Marchione persists. Nope, Sukunimi circles away and we're back to standing. Sukunimi dodges the punch combination from Marchione.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Sukunimi misses and Marchione counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Marchione slips nicely into half guard. Marchione is looking for a kimura but Sukunimi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marchione to get the leverage. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Marchione lands a nice short elbow. Marchione throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Marchione is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marchione lands strikes from half guard. Marchione stands up and beckons Sukunimi to join him on the feet. Etunimi Sukunimi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sukunimi looks gassed! Marchione misses with the combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marchione closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sukunimi circles away. Sukunimi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Marchione is able to avoid easily. Marchione shoots in and bounces Sukunimi off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Sukunimi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Marchione cracks Sukunimi with a solid left hand. Marchione wants to control from the top but Sukunimi keeps moving. Marchione in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marchione advances to half guard. Sukunimi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marchione. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sukunimi on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Marchione is trying to control the action in half guard but Sukunimi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Marchione is trying to work for a kimura but Sukunimi is defending well.
Marchione takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Marchione working the head and body with strikes. Marchione is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sukunimi is trying to get back to full guard. Marchione controlling the action here. Marchione working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Marchione has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sukunimi is trying to control but can't.

Marchione shoots in and gets a takedown into Sukunimi's guard. Marchione content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Marchione working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Sukunimi is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marchione stands up over Sukunimi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Marchione with a nice head shot there. Sukunimi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Marchione passes into half guard.
Marchione wants to control but Sukunimi is keeping him busy. Marchione lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Marchione looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sukunimi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sukunimi is rocked! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Marchione lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sukunimi is still in real trouble! Can Marchione finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marchione content to control rather than advance. Marchione is nestled in close to Sukunimi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marchione maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Sukunimi could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Marchione has cracked it and Sukunimi is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Marchione!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monfriesz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Monfriesz throws a nice outside leg kick. Monfriesz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Wyatt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Monfriesz is looking for a sweep. Wyatt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Wyatt trying to control from half guard but Monfriesz is working away. Monfriesz is looking to improve his position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Monfriesz moves forwards but Wyatt connects with a nice, crisp jab. Monfriesz checks a low kick from Wyatt. Monfriesz scores with a jab to the body. Wyatt takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Wyatt feints and then cracks Monfriesz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Monfriesz down. Monfriesz looks gassed! Monfriesz gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Monfriesz misses with a hook. Wyatt ducked under it nicely. Monfriesz moves out of range of the body kick. Wyatt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Monfriesz.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Wyatt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Monfriesz for as long as he can get away with. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
