The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dewing closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Neidhart did well to prevent Dewing getting side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Neidhart is controlling Dewing's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Dewing is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Neidhart is just riding it out for now. Dewing eventually gives up the hold.
Neidhart trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Dewing manages to pass to mount!

Dewing is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Neidhart is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Neidhart flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Dewing anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Neidhart and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Dewing slips an arm under Neidhart chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Dewing has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Dewing is squeezing on Neidhart like an anaconda would it's prey. Neidhart fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

and Casio counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Casio gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hammett wants to control from the top but Casio keeps moving.

Casio has his feet on Hammett's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Hammett closes the distance and clinches.

Casio has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hammett uses from the top position.
