The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beddoe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McWrestle.

McWrestle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Beddoe!

McWrestle wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

McWrestle stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Blake McWrestle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McWrestle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Beddoe sprawls well. Beddoe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McWrestle gets slowly back to his feet.
McWrestle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Beddoe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McWrestle stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

McThai throws a leg kick but Fredriksson sees it coming and moves out of range.

Fredriksson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McThai to the ground. Fredriksson is now in McThai's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
McThai throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Fredriksson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McThai throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Fredriksson passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Fredriksson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McThai knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fredriksson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McThai, who protects the arm well.

Fredriksson has an Americana. McThai didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fredriksson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fredriksson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
