1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruslan Romanenko! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Burns is taking a breather. Romanenko says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Romanenko looking for submissions off his back. Romanenko with the active half guard here but Burns passes nicely into side control. You can see the frustration on Romanenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Burns tries to stand but Romanenko is controlling his head. Romanenko gets back to half guard. Burns slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lance Burns. Burns shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Romanenko pinned against the cage. Romanenko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Romanenko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burns tries to avoid it but Romanenko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burns to the ground. Burns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Romanenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Burns. Burns gets slowly back to his feet. Burns closes this distance looking for a takedown but Romanenko circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lance Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romanenko leaves Burns with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Burns shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Romanenko manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Burns got a little sloppy there for a moment and Romanenko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burns has managed to get both his arms back between Romanenko's legs - danger averted. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Romanenko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burns defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burns is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Romanenko has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Burns is looking to defend but Romanenko has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Burns! Romanenko pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Burns taps out and this one is all over!

Skylewalker scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Skylewalker connects with a high kick. Bas Rutten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Skylewalker scores with a spinning back kick! Rutten looks gassed! Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Skylewalker! Rutten is out on his feet! Skylewalker rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Rutten is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Rutten is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monferrand misses with a takedown and Kimble counters with a one-two to the body. Monferrand takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Monferrand steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kimble. Kimble throws a right hand that Monferrand ducks under and follows up with a left that Monferrand also avoids with ease. Monferrand slips a jab and a cross from Kimble.

and Monferrand counters with a left to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Monferrand ducks under a wild hook from Kimble. Kimble misses with a looping right. Monferrand fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Monferrand with a body punch. A glancing blow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! He's got his arms around Kimble's waist but Kimble gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Monferrand off to one side. Kimble lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Monferrand circles away quickly and effectively. Monferrand throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kimble thows a body shot but no joy. Monferrand has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kimble finds it's way round the side to connect with Monferrand's head. Monferrand takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kimble swings for the body but Monferrand moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monferrand fails with a takedown attempt. Kimble lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Kimble misses with a series of wild punches.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kimble catches Monferrand with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Monferrand. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. A slow jab from Kimble misses its intended target. Kimble getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kimble, as that shot connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kimble throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monferrand. Monferrand fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kimble stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kimble wants it to stay on the feet. Kimble moves into the clinch successfully.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph Monferrand. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kimble. Monferrand fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kimble lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Monferrand backwards. Kimble scores with an uppercut up the middle. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kimble just misses with a elbow thrown towards Monferrand's brow. Monferrand tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kimble just stands there and leans against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Kimble throws an elbow but misses. Kimble missing with knees to the body.

John Kimble showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Joseph Monferrand's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Kimble loads up on a big right hand but Monferrand slips the punch. Kimble rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Monferrand moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Monferrand takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Monferrand takes a swing at Kimble's ribcage but misses. Kimble lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Monferrand at a distance.
Kimble throws out a loose jab but Monferrand uses good head movement to avoid it. Kimble throws a jab when Monferrand was well out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Kimble.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monferrand takes a body punch but keeps moving. Kimble tries to close the distance and clinch up but Monferrand swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kimble misses with a few strikes there.

and Monferrand counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Monferrand tries to move into range but Kimble moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kimble takes a swing at Monferrand's ribcage but misses. Kimble has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kimble misses with a shot to the body and Monferrand counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kimble takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kimble pulls Monferrand in close to his closed guard and prevents Monferrand from doing any damage or advancing position. Kimble pushes Monferrand off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Monferrand tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kimble swivels and escapes. Kimble is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Monferrand throws a right and a left that Kimble avoids nicely. Kimble jabs Monferrand to the body, keeping him at a distance. Kimble throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Monferrand counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kimble won't be happy with that. Monferrand in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Monferrand is looking to take a break and control but Kimble is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Who's going to make the next move? Monferrand looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kimble is avoiding damage well.
Kimble regains half guard. Monferrand seems to be working for a kimura but Kimble defends the submission attempt. Kimble preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monferrand trying to mount his opponent but Kimble defends it. Joseph Monferrand has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Monferrand wants to work for an arm triangle but Kimble is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Monferrand is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kimble regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Monferrand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Monferrand has gone for a leg lock! Kimble slips out almost immediately though and dives into Monferrand's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! John Kimble comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kimble winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Martin. Martin fails with the takedown and Severn counters with a single leg into guard. Martin didn't expect that. Severn working some strikes from top position. Severn distracts Martin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Martin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Severn has picked Martin up and slammed him! Martin can't keep hold of the triangle and Severn manages to pass to side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Severn is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Martin's shoulder. That is not cool. Severn landing a few strikes. Martin is letting Severn control him for a moment. Severn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cannon closes the distance and clinches up with Castro, looking for a takedown. Cannon pushes Castro against the cage but Castro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cannon gets cracked there but stands up to it.
