The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick from Ludczynsky misses. Ludczynsky tries to land a leg kick but Walker saw it coming and moves away.
Walker has his takedown stuffed and Ludczynsky counters with a single leg into guard. Walker didn't expect that. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ludczynsky controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ludczynsky postures up in Walker's guard and throws a big left but Walker blocks it. Ludczynsky postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Ludczynsky preventing the sweep. Ludczynsky slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ludczynsky is chipping away with strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walker wants to control but Ludczynsky postures up. Ludczynsky landing a few strikes. Walker is looking for a sweep. Ludczynsky creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Walker is rocked! Ludczynsky creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Walker is still in real trouble! Can Ludczynsky finish him? Ludczynsky scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Walker is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Ludczynsky can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lance Franklin slips a straight right by Chuck Franklin. Chuck Franklin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lance Franklin sprawls well. Lance Franklin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chuck Franklin gets slowly back to his feet. Chuck Franklin shoots in but Lance Franklin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Chuck Franklin takes a body punch but keeps moving. Chuck Franklin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lance Franklin is fending him off so far but Chuck Franklin persists. Nope, Lance Franklin circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Franklin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chuck Franklin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lance Franklin. Chuck Franklin scores a takedown into full mount! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Chuck Franklin tries to control but Lance Franklin wriggling away. Lance Franklin is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

This isn't 1993 though, so Lance Franklin shrugs it off. This has been an exciting period of action! Lance Franklin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Chuck Franklin.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chuck Franklin working away from the top, dropping strikes. Chuck Franklin looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Chuck Franklin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chuck Franklin with good strikes from the mount here! Chuck Franklin looking to isolate an arm here. Lance Franklin doesn't see it coming and as Chuck Franklin extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Chuck Franklin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker throws a right hand that Hanson ducks under and follows up with a left that Hanson also avoids with ease. Hanson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Baker scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Hanson misses with a looping right. Baker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Baker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Baker misses with the combination.
Baker scores with a nice head shot. Baker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hanson's head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Baker lands a nice looking body shot.
Hanson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Baker scores with a takedown into Hanson's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Baker controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hanson is working an open guard so Baker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Baker scores with a three punch combo!
Baker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hanson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Baker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Baker perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Bryan Baker was stalling too much, according to the referee. Baker displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Baker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Baker looks to land a combination but Hanson avoids it well. Oooooh!!! Baker has knocked Hanson down with a huge combo! Baker steps away and waves a wobbly Hanson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Hanson is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Baker misses with a two punch combination.
Oh Hanson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hands Hanson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Baker swinging wildly here.
Baker lands a nice hook to Hanson's body. Hanson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Baker darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Hanson's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Baker before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

I think Hansen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gamma Ray - Land of the Free. Melbrooks has chosen Motorhead - Smiling like a killer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Melbrooks creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hansen's defenses. Hansen blocks the elbow strike.

Hansen swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hansen lands a nice uppercut. Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Crunch! Melbrooks slams his shin into Hansen's torso. Hansen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Melbrooks moves away. Melbrooks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hansen lands a jab to the head.
Hansen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Melbrooks tries to clinch up and Hansen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Melbrooks's knee momentarily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Melbrooks thumps Hansen with a low kick. Melbrooks throws a sloppy head kick and Hansen moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melbrooks lands with a nice body punch. Hansen fails in his attempt to clinch. Hansen cracks Melbrooks with an open hand slap. Hansen throws a poor cross that misses
and Hansen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Melbrooks wants to clinch up but Hansen keeps it at a distance. Hansen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Melbrooks's head. Melbrooks takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. A bone on bone clash there as Melbrooks blocks the leg kick.

Melbrooks misses with an attempted mid kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hansen throws a predictable looking body shot
and Melbrooks counters with a straight right hand. Hansen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Melbrooks has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hansen finds it's way round the side to connect with Melbrooks's head. Melbrooks misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hansen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Hansen scores with a spinning back kick! Hansen fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hansen misses with a series of wild punches.
Melbrooks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hansen.
Hansen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Melbrooks. A jab from Hansen finds it's way through Melbrooks's defenses. Melbrooks lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melbrooks ducks right into an uppercut from Hansen. Hansen fakes the leg kick and cracks Melbrooks in the body. Melbrooks misses with a right hand and Hansen counters with a thumping low kick. Melbrooks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hansen. Melbrooks throws a leg kick but Hansen checks it. Hansen throws a hook but Melbrooks avoids it easily. John Melbrooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hansen throws a shot to the body.
Melbrooks looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Melbrooks tries to clinch but Hansen is having none of it. Melbrooks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Melbrooks misses with a body kick. Hansen tries a low kick but Melbrooks avoids it. Melbrooks bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hansen's head. Melbrooks looks to score with a jab to the body but Hansen is just out of range. Melbrooks pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hansen is out of range and Melbrooks settles back down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hansen digs a good body shot into Melbrooks's ribs. Hansen lands a jab. Hansen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Hansen misses with an uppercut. Melbrooks saw that one coming. Hansen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Melbrooks circles away quickly and effectively. Melbrooks misses the shot to the body. A nice inside leg kick there by Hansen. That's going to slow Melbrooks down. Melbrooks catches Hansen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! The crowd cheers as Hansen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Melbrooks doesn't seem phased though. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Melbrooks defending well as Hansen loads up on a big left hand. Hansen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Melbrooks thumps Hansen with a low kick. Hansen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A combination from Hansen does no damage. Melbrooks throws a head kick that misses. Melbrooks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hansen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Melbrooks keeps the fight on the outside. Melbrooks darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Melbrooks moves into range and clinches up with Hansen.

Hansen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Melbrooks throws a jab but it's blocked by Hansen. Hansen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hansen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Hansen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Melbrooks takes a step back to recover. Hansen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hansen gets through Melbrooks's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Melbrooks comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Melbrooks with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
