The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castle misses with a combination
and Green counters with a left and a right that stings Castle. Green misses with an uppercut. Castle saw that one coming. Castle defending well as Green loads up on a big left hand. Castle showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Green.
Green throws a right and a left that both miss. Castle leaves Green with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sloppy strikes from Castle. Those never looked like landing. Green jabbing away but nothing is landing. Castle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Green's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Green trying to keep a closed guard but Castle is proving a slippery customer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acevedes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Kozlov scoring well with a low kick there.
Acevedes throws a body punch but Kozlov moves out of range. Nice defenses there by Acevedes. Kozlov loads up on a big right hand but Acevedes slips the punch. Kozlov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kozlov throws a low kick but Acevedes moves out of range easily. Kozlov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Acevedes doesn't seem bothered though. Kozlov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Acevedes, pushing him back against the cage. Kozlov tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kozlov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Kozlov swings wildly with an uppercut but Acevedes uses good head movement to avoid it. The referee is keeping an eye on Kozlov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goodlove defending well as Aldo loads up on a big left hand. Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aldo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Goodlove. A bone on bone clash there as Aldo blocks the leg kick.
Nice defenses there by Goodlove. Aldo throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Aldo misses with a low kick. Goodlove needs to keep his hands up - Aldo had a free shot at his head there. Goodlove bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Goodlove turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Goodlove scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Aldo doesn't seem bothered though. Aldo slips under a jab. Aldo missing with a left hand there. Goodlove was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Aldo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Goodlove manages to avoid it. Goodlove throws a head kick that misses. Goodlove uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Aldo. Aldo checks a leg kick nicely. Goodlove misses with an uppercut. Aldo saw that one coming. Goodlove will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Aldo closes the distance and clinches up with Goodlove, looking for a takedown. Aldo pushes Goodlove against the cage but Goodlove circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Aldo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Goodlove. Goodlove obviously looking to wear him down.
Goodlove keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Aldo ducks right into an uppercut from Goodlove. Goodlove ducks under a wild hook from Aldo. Goodlove connects with an inside leg kick. Goodlove blocks a leg kick. Goodlove lands a right hook to the body.
Aldo is breathing heavily. Aldo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Aldo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Aldo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aldo throws out a loose jab but Goodlove uses good head movement to avoid it. Aldo checks a leg kick. Goodlove throws a quick inside leg kick.

Aldo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Goodlove. A left lands for Goodlove. A left lands for Goodlove.
Aldo is rocked! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Aldo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Goodlove - the referee stops the clock and Aldo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Goodlove. Aldo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Oh Aldo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Aldo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Goodlove chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rollo Goodlove is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Goodlove connects with a combination that backs up Aldo into the cage. Goodlove lands a flurry of punches that gets past Aldo's guard. Aldo is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Goodlove bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dunn lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Dunn tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Blade swats him away and circles back towards the center. The Blade throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A head kick from The Blade lands but Dunn takes it in his stride. Dunn paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Dunn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The Blade goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Nice body punch from Dunn. The fighters circle momentarily. Dunn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Dunn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. The Blade looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Dunn lands with a thumping leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The Blade tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dunn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dunn throws a nice looking combination but The Blade bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The Blade gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The Blade forces Dunn back against the cage and clinches. The Blade is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morrison takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Melendez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is El Coo Cooi . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Mungo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Melendez gets the takedown into side control. Melendez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Mungo tries to buck Melendez off but Melendez is having none of it. Mungo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Melendez wants to control but Mungo is keeping him busy. Melendez is staying tight to Mungo's torso, preventing him from escaping. Melendez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mungo is looking for a sweep. Melendez working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melendez tries to score with some ground and pound. Mungo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Mungo prevents Melendez from moving into mount. Melendez trying to control the action but Mungo is working from the bottom. Mungo gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Melendez throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mungo can do anything to dispel that myth. Melendez looking to ground and pound but Mungo is blocking nicely. Melendez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mungo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Melendez looking to control but Mungo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Melendez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Melendez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Melendez connects with a bit shot that sees Mungo covering up! More strikes from Melendez and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Melendez is our winner by TKO!

Figueroa tries to close the distance and clinch but Qualls swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Qualls wants to slow Figueroa down by chopping away at his legs. Figueroa scores with a leg kick.
Qualls darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Figueroa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Qualls is working away from the top position though. Qualls working the head and body with strikes. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Qualls connects with a nice short shot to Figueroa's temple. Qualls thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Figueroa's head. Figueroa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Qualls is working away from the top position though. Qualls is looking for a kimura but Figueroa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Qualls to get the leverage. Qualls is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Figueroa defends it well. Qualls is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Figueroa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Qualls.
