The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melendez tries to clinch but Killian moves out of range. Killian misses with a head kick.
Killian shoots in for a takedown but Melendez shows good takedown defense. Killian throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Melendez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Melendez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Killian is fending him off so far but Melendez persists. Nope, Killian circles away and we're back to standing. Killian throws a lazy head kick and Melendez counters with a slapping leg kick. A combination from Melendez does no damage. Good leg kick by Killian there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Killian fails with a takedown attempt. Killian wants to clinch and Melendez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Melendez. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Killian working for a triangle but Melendez defends it easily.
Killian isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Melendez stacks Killian on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Melendez! Killian is looking to regain half guard here but Melendez keeps moving and retains side control.

He's bucked Melendez off and has taken his back! Killian working for a choke but Melendez is defending well. Killian working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Killian is looking for a rear naked choke here but Melendez reverses the position brilliantly into Killian's guard!
Melendez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Melendez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Killian works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salazar closes the distance and clinches up with Brasil, looking for a takedown. Salazar pushes Brasil against the cage but Brasil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Salazar shoots and misses and Brasil counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Brasil keeps the fight on the outside. Salazar fails with the takedown and Brasil connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Vince Brasil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Armando Salazar. Brasil keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

An inside leg kick lands from Brasil. Salazar moves forwards but Brasil connects with a nice, crisp jab. Salazar shoots in for a takedown but Brasil shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brasil tries to close the distance and clinch but Salazar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Salazar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brasil counters with a lovely straight right hand! Brasil shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salazar is trying to defend but Brasil finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Salazar can do anything to dispel that myth. Brasil has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The referee warns Salazar that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Salazar is trying to stand up. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brasil fails to take his opponent's back. Brasil lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Salazar hang on? Brasil can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Salazar is looking to escape. Brasil controlling his opponent. Salazar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brasil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Salazar for as long as he can get away with. Brasil wants to control the pace but Salazar is squirming around nicely. Salazar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Brasil controlling the position easily from mount. Brasil can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Salazar is looking to escape. Brasil takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Brasil feints and as Salazar raises his hands in defense, Brasil changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Brasil wants to control from the top but Salazar keeps moving. Salazar wants to stand up but Brasil is controlling him. Brasil trying to control but Salazar is working from the bottom. Brasil prevents Salazar from getting back to his feet. We're going to have a standup here because Vince Brasil wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Salazar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brasil counters with a straight right hand. Salazar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Brasil counter with a right hand. Vince Brasil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Armando Salazar. Salazar fails with a takedown attempt. Salazar shoots in for a takedown but Brasil shows good takedown defense.

He's now off balance and Brasil manages to pass to side control. Brasil is looking to take a break and control but Salazar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Peko Talalelei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rizal fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Rizal. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Proctor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Killian moves away. Proctor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Killian is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drogo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Drogo moves out of range of the body kick. Drogo throws the kick towards the body but McWeeny avoids it. Drogo misses with a wild body shot. McWeeny tries to clinch but Drogo moves out of range. McWeeny dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Drogo. That did some damage! Drogo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Drogo throws a body punch but McWeeny moves out of range. A left lands for Drogo. Drogo throws a leg kick but McWeeny checks it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Drogo throws a wild body kick that McWeeny sees coming a mile off. McWeeny thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Drogo if he has to take too many more of those.
