Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Country (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timothy Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by McGee. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Timothy Mcgee! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgee shoots for a takedown but Country saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Country shoots in looking for a takedown but Mcgee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Country's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mcgee shoots in but no luck this time. Country displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mcgee. Roy Country has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timothy Mcgee. Mcgee moves in looking to clinch but Country pushes him off. Country pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mcgee takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mcgee tries to bum rush Country with a series of wild strikes but Country uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mcgee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Country shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Country passes easily into side control. Nice work. Mcgee wants to get back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mcgee is letting Country control him for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgee is not content to let Country control the position. Country thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. You can see the frustration on Mcgee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mcgee is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mcgee pushes Country away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Country gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcgee stops Country from passing to mount. Mcgee regains half guard there - taking advantage of Country's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Country stops Mcgee from getting back to his feet.
Country looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Country controlling the action here. Country passes the guard and advances to mount! Country content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Country mounts Mcgee! Really nice guard pass there! Mcgee really wants to buck Country off and get back to his feet. Country looking to control but Mcgee is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mcgee tries to lock up and control but Country gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Country controlling from the full mount. Mcgee has given up his back. Will we see Country going for some submissions?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Goodson.
Nice jab there from Goodson. Goodson throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Rainey tumbling to the canvas!
Rainey is rocked! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Goodson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Oh Rainey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rainey throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Goodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rainey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Goodson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rainey wants to sweep here but Goodson controlling him for the moment. Rainey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Goodson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rainey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Goodson is squirming around, avoiding Rainey's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goodson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rainey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rainey throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Goodson because Rainey loaded up on that one. Rainey seems to have got his legs back now. Rainey looking to finish Goodson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Goodson! Rainey punching from mount but Goodson doing a good job of avoiding damage. Rainey tries to control but Goodson wriggling away.

Rainey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Goodson's face.

Jesus ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Romerio lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Good standup being displayed there by Romerio as he connects with a hook. Jesus misses with a left hand letting Romerio counter with a right hand. Romerio takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Romerio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jesus manages to avoid it. Romerio fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jesus scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Romerio doesn't seem bothered though.

Romerio throws a shot from downtown. Jesus moves away and avoids it. Romerio shoots in for a takedown but Jesus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darabedyan throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Gusto's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Darabedyan dives in looking to finish as Gusto flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Darabedyan's strikes! Darabedyan is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Gusto's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Gusto was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

That has opened up Jack Von Lydeman's cut even more. Von Lydeman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joseph manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jack Von Lydeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Von Lydeman looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Joseph has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Joseph there as he acknowledges the shot. Von Lydeman scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Von Lydeman ducks under a wild hook from Joseph. Von Lydeman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Von Lydeman closes the distance and clinches up with Joseph, looking for a takedown. Von Lydeman pushes Joseph against the cage but Joseph circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Joseph tries to avoid it but Von Lydeman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Joseph to the ground. Joseph escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Von Lydeman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Joseph avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Joseph takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Von Lydeman connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Von Lydeman delivers a nice body kick. Von Lydeman lands an overhand right.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Von Lydeman rushes Joseph and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Joseph wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
