The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGirk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A punch lands to the side of Jones 's head but he takes it in his stride. McGirk is looking to clinch. McGirk rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. McGirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McGirk lands a head shot. Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jones is looking to clinch. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but McGirk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. McGirk does a little dance to reset his feet. McGirk scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Jones closes the distance but McGirk moves to the side and McGirk counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jones walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. McGirk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones shoots in for a double leg but McGirk sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGirk closes the distance and clinches. McGirk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage. McGirk throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McGirk just stands there and leans against the cage. McGirk has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment. McGirk just leaning against Jones, taking a breather. Jones sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Morales connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Law's hands. Law throws a jab when Morales was well out of range. Watanabe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Trevor pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Trevor tries a low kick but Watanabe avoids it. Trevor avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Trevor with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Watanabe to score with a decent uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Watanabe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Trevor.
