and Remigio counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bladimir won't be happy with that.

Remigio is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Remigio is trying to get an arm triangle but Bladimir is defending well.
Remigio throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bladimir works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Remigio is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bladimir is just riding it out for now. Remigio eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Remigio thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bladimir to regain full guard.

Bladimir throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Remigio.

Remigio closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bladimir to the mat! Bladimir manages to get full guard.

Remigio drops back looking for a leg! Bladimir is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bladimir manages to kick Remigio off! Remigio jumps back into Bladimir's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bladimir lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Remigio scores a takedown into full mount!

Remigio is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Bladimir is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Bladimir flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Remigio anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Bladimir and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Remigio slips an arm under Bladimir chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Remigio has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Remigio is squeezing on Bladimir like an anaconda would it's prey. Bladimir fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryosuke Takahashi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gustavo Andrade!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrade lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Ryosuke Takahashi has been cut.

Andrade forces Takahashi back against the cage and clinches.
Takahashi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Takahashi tries to pull guard but Andrade won't allow it.

Andrade gets control of Takahashi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Andrade will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Andrade lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Takahashi!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takahashi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Takahashi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Takahashi is looking for a sweep. Andrade is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Andrade is looking to stall here but Takahashi recovers full guard.

Takahashi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andrade got a little sloppy there for a moment and Takahashi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Andrade has managed to get both his arms back between Takahashi's legs - danger averted.
Andrade controlling from the top position.

Let's hope that Andrade has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Takahashi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Andrade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Andrade manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Takahashi is breathing heavily.

Takahashi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Andrade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Andrade is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Takahashi has his feet on Andrade's thighs here. He's pushed Andrade off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Andrade screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
