Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reeves comes to the cage accompanied by Set to Fail - Lamb of God. Brock Lesnar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Reeves stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reeves wants it to stay on the feet.
Reeves scores with a sloppy right hand. Lesnar should have avoided that one.
Lesnar dives in and grabs Reeves's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reeves pushes down on Lesnar's head and hops out.
Lesnar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reeves tries to avoid it but Lesnar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reeves to the ground. Reeves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jacob Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Lesnar.
Horrible takedown by Lesnar or perhaps it was just good defense by Reeves which made him look bad.
Lesnar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reeves pinned against the cage. Reeves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reeves with a nice cross.
Lesnar takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reeves connects with a nice looking jab.

Lesnar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reeves did well to prevent Lesnar getting side control.
Lesnar looks gassed!

Reeves pushes Lesnar off and gets back to his feet.
Reeves connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Brock Lesnar has been cut.
Brock Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reeves listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reeves as he avoids it easily.
Reeves cracks Lesnar's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Lesnar slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Reeves can do further damage! This one is done, son!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Aoki. No joy for Garris on that attempt.
Garris misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Aoki connects with a jab.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Garris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aoki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garris somewhat.
Horrible takedown by Garris or perhaps it was just good defense by Aoki which made him look bad.

Aoki closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Garris's guard.

Garris has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Aoki is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Garris yanks on the arm and Aoki is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Garris.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Activin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Boxers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

A jab from Activin does it's job there.
George Activin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boxer lands with a slapping head kick.
Activin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Boxer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Boxer lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Boxer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Activin walks into a left hand.
Boxer misses with a kick to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Activin. Boxer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Activin throws a body punch but Boxer moves out of range.

Boxer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Activin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Activin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Boxer's head backwards.
Boxer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Boxer scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Boxer tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Activin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Activin misses with a straight left.
Boxer gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Activin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Activin has his foot on Boxer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boxer works his way back into a safe position though.

Boxer looking to sit in guard and control but Activin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boxer will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Boxer wants to sweep here but Activin controlling him for the moment.

Activin is looking to work some ground and pound but Boxer has wrist control.
Activin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Activin missing with a left hand there. Boxer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Activin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Boxer to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Boxer lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Boxer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Boxer wants to stand but Activin is controlling his posture from full guard.

Activin pushes a forearm under Boxer's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Boxer is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
