The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Condit throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely. A leg kick checked by Condit. Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Englund moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Stephan Anton has been cut. Anton shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Englund manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Englund wants to stand and escape but Anton is having none of it. Englund really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Englund can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anton controls the pace. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mian checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mian looking for a takedown here - he's got it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mian throws a strike but Gilmore rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mian is looking for a triangle but Gilmore pushes his legs off easily.
Gilmore avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gilmore tries to stand but Mian is controlling from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mian throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gilmore escapes and throws Mian's legs to the side, diving into side control! Gilmore stands up.

Happy Gilmore is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gilmore throws an overhand right that lands on Mian's shoulder, as Mian tries to avoid the shot. Happy Gilmore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gilmore sizes up Mian with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Gilmore scores with a jab to the body. Mian moves out of range as Gilmore strikes. Mian digs a good body shot into Gilmore's ribs.

Gilmore is squirming around, avoiding Mian's attempts to control the action. Mian is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gilmore has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mian is landing with some decent strikes but Gilmore is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mian stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mian scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Jab from Mian. Gilmore scores with a nice strike. Mian looks to land a left hand but Gilmore moved out of range nicely. Gilmore doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Mian bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Mian shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gilmore as he jumps to the side. Gilmore stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gilmore wants it to stay on the feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mian tries for a takedown but Gilmore sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Da Mian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mian swings for the body but Gilmore moves out of range.
Gilmore keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mian takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Gilmore loads up on a big right hand but Mian slips the punch. Mian with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gilmore to score with a decent uppercut. Mian shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gilmore's guard. Gilmore is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mian is controlling him. Gilmore has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mian off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Mian will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gilmore throws the left hand but Mian avoids the punch easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mian. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Da Mian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mian tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gilmore swivels and escapes. Gilmore swings for the body but Mian moves out of range.

That will dishearten Mian somewhat.

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mian trying to advance position but Gilmore counters by regaining guard. Mian is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gilmore is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gilmore has escaped and now he's on top! Mian controls Gilmore momentarily but Gilmore frees himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mian manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gilmore manages to get himself to full guard.

Gilmore's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mian under the eye. Mian looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gilmore lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mian at a distance.

Gilmore sprawls well initially but Mian persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gilmore has one foot on Mian's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mian shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Gilmore is defending against the submission attempts here by Mian.
This has been an exciting period of action! Mian is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gilmore doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mian.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mian seems to be working for a kimura but Gilmore defends the submission attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gilmore is in trouble now - Mian has advanced to mount!
