 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black takes the fight into the clinch. Black is pressed up against the cage. Man has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Black down to the mat. Black avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Man shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Black as he jumps to the side. Man throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A shot to the body from Man misses
and Black counters with a crisp one two that drops Man! Black thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Man to his feet! Man is in big trouble! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Man throws a shot to the body.
Black batters Man with a massive right followed by a huge left! Man is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Black lands a final crushing right hand to drop Man to the mat with a gruesome thud! Black is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zangief tries to score a power double leg takedown but Makelaris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zangief somewhat. Zangief throws a head kick but Makelaris moves out of range.
Makelaris clinches up against the cage.
Makelaris gets a trip takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makelaris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zangief's head. Makelaris slows the pace down in half guard. Makelaris wants to take a breather but Zangief is having none of it. Makelaris throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Makelaris prevents Zangief from improving his position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Makelaris lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Zangief wants to control but Makelaris is keeping busy.
Zangief wants to stand back up but Makelaris manages to pass into side control.
Zangief is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

 Aris Makelaris has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Zangief fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Makelaris tries a head kick but it misses.
Zangief closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Makelaris to the mat! Makelaris manages to get full guard. Zangief throwing strikes but missing. Makelaris trying to control the position here. Makelaris preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zangief trying to control but Makelaris is working from the bottom. Makelaris working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zangief. This has been an exciting period of action! Makelaris utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Aris Makelaris will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Zangief is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The fighters circling - Makelaris throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Zangief blocks a head kick by Makelaris.

and Goldberg counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Goldberg. Goldberg has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Laid is proving hard to escape from. Goldberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Laid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Laid is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Goldberg wants to control from the top but Laid keeps moving. Goldberg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corleone uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Davis. Corleone walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Corleone forces Davis back against the cage and clinches. Davis pressing his opponent against the cage. Corleone crunches a lovely knee into Davis's ribcage. Davis is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Corleone is defending well for now. Corleone lands a good knee to the midsection. Davis won't want to take too many of those. Davis is trying to maintain a safe position but Corleone gets an underhook and turns Davis into the cage. Davis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Corleone unloads a knee to the mid-section. Davis lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Davis goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
