Colombo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Dmitriy Kosarev has been cut.
Colombo feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Kosarev collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hohs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fedorov defends it nicely.

Fedorov regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hohs.

Fedorov is looking for a triangle but Hohs pushes his legs off easily.
Hohs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hohs has left one of his arms exposed and Fedorov doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hohs screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Bashkin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Bashkin has had enough of the clinch but Pavlis keeps him there for the moment.
Bashkin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bashkin tries to break the clinch but Pavlis is controlling the position.
Pavlis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bashkin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Pavlis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bashkin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pavlis is in Bashkin's guard.

Bashkin tries to bum rush Pavlis with a series of wild strikes but Pavlis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Bashkin in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Horrible takedown by Pavlis or perhaps it was just good defense by Bashkin which made him look bad.

Pavlis shoots for a double leg takedown but Bashkin sprawls well. He's pushed Pavlis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pavlis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bashkin pinned against the cage. Bashkin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bashkin is pressed up against the cage. Pavlis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bashkin down to the mat. Bashkin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bashkin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pavlis circles away quickly and effectively.

Pavlis turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pavlis manages to end up in side control.

Pavlis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bashkin keeps working.

Bashkin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pavlis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bashkin's waist but Bashkin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pavlis off to one side.

Turchin is trying to drag McCartny to the mat but McCartny just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

McCartny could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

McCartny is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vladimir Subbotin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Subbotin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
