0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Sampyla! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampyla with a lazy takedown attempt and Bader counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Bader seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sampyla does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bader working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
It looks like Sam Sampyla has been cut. Bader wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sampyla keeps working. Bader stops Sampyla from getting back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bader throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sampyla keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bader postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sampyla to stand up. Bader shoots in for a takedown but Sampyla shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bader throws a sloppy head kick and Sampyla moves out of range easily. Bader bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bader in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Sampyla is trying to buck Bader off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampyla throws Bader to one side and escapes! Bader gets a clinch. Sampyla unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sampyla pulls guard successfully.
Bader throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bader controls from within his opponent's guard. Sampyla has his feet on Bader's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Sampyla looks gassed! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bader is defended easily by Sampyla. Sampyla's corner calls for a 1-2. Sampyla obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bader closes the distance and clinches up with Sampyla, looking for a takedown. Bader pushes Sampyla against the cage but Sampyla circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Bader. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sampyla. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bader shoots in for a takedown but Sampyla shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bader fails with the takedown. Bader closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sampyla's guard. Sampyla keeping moving, preventing Bader from controlling successfully. Sampyla uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bader shoots in looking for a takedown but Sampyla manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bader's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampyla drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sampyla has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Sampyla tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ryan Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bader shoots in but Sampyla avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sampyla rushes Bader and presses him up against the cage. Bader on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bader is struggling to control the position. Sampyla manages to break the clinch.
Bader fails to land the takedown. Sampyla tries to clinch but Bader moves out of range. Sampyla shoots in for a takedown but Bader shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bader swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bader tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sampyla is able to avoid easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sampyla plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Sampyla tests Bader's chin there with a solid looking shot. Bader displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sampyla. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Bader will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sam Sampyla's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bader misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sampyla lands a leg kick that knocks Bader off balance momentarily. Sampyla lands a jab to the nose. Bader looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sampyla! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sampyla is trying to stand. Bader tries to control but Sampyla wriggling away. Sampyla is breathing heavily. Bader putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Bader pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Bader trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bader lands with some strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns Sampyla that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sampyla is rocked! Bader in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Sampyla is still in real trouble! Can Bader finish him? Bader cracks Sampyla with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saga tries to bum rush Trot with a series of wild strikes but Trot uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Saga closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Trot quickly recovers to half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Saga takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Saga thows a huge punch but Trot dodges it nicely.
Saga working over Trot with some ground and pound. Trot looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Saga landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Trot is refusing to be controlled, as Saga sits in half guard. Saga has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Saga throwing shots but Trot is blocking nicely. But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Head, into his guard. Head looking for a guillotine here but Gaulterie defends easily.

Munoz moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. The fight moves into the clinch position. Munoz tries to break free but Morks pushes him back against the cage. Munoz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Morks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Munoz misses with a looping left. Morks defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Munoz. Mark Munoz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morks misses with a double jab.
Morks throws a nice inside leg kick. Munoz is breathing heavily. Morks catches Munoz napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Munoz to the canvas!
Munoz is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Morks stands and steps away. Munoz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Oh Munoz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Morks digs a good hook to Munoz's body.
Morks throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Munoz crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Natsuki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. The fighters circling - Natsuki throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ruthman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ruthman wants it to stay on the feet. Natsuki ducks under a wild hook from Ruthman. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tacos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Joe was well out of range. Poor timing from Tacos. Tacos with a lazy takedown attempt and Joe counters with a nice body shot. Tacos shoots and misses and Joe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Tacos takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Tacos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Joe feints a jab promting Tacos to slip. Joe then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tacos slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
