Jj comes to the cage accompanied by Selling My Soul-by- BLACK SABBATH. Both these guys have really solid chins. 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Oliver Oxenfrei! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oxenfrei scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jj doesn't seem bothered though. Jj connects with a good right hand that stumbles Oxenfrei. Oxenfrei circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Oliver Oxenfrei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big right from Oxenfrei misses. Oxenfrei lands a right hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Oxenfrei. Jj does a little dance to reset his feet. Oxenfrei gets caught flat footed, as Jj shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Oxenfrei utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Oxenfrei really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jj. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Oxenfrei working a defensive guard here.
Oliver Oxenfrei has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Oxenfrei looks to land a left hand but Jj moved out of range nicely. Jj throws a lazy right hand but Oxenfrei sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

It looks like B Jj has been cut. Oxenfrei swings for the body but Jj moves out of range.

Jj slips a straight right by Oxenfrei. Oxenfrei tests Jj's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jj rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oxenfrei moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Oxenfrei throws a right hand that Jj ducks under and follows up with a left that Jj also avoids with ease. Jj throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oxenfrei was covering up waiting for the punch and Jj finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oxenfrei is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLellan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. McLellan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Chabal counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends McLellan down! Chabal is looking to finish but McLellan is intelligently defending himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Chabal is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. McLellan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McLellan tries to get out of the position. McLellan has his foot on Chabal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chabal works his way back into a safe position though. Chabal with a nice head shot there. McLellan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McLellan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. McLellan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McLellan leaves Chabal with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Makushimaru thows a body shot but no joy. Kennedy tries to sprawl but Makushimaru drives through with a takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Makushimaru wants to stand but Kennedy has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Kennedy looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kennedy wants to control but Makushimaru is keeping busy and won't allow it. Makushimaru tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kennedy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makushimaru would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
