Higginsworth kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mr. Grinch. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Higginsworth looks to land a left hand but Saint moved out of range nicely. Higginsworth keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Higginsworth moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Saint looks gassed! Saint throws a half hearted mid kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Higginsworth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Higginsworth throws a nice outside leg kick. Saint sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Higginsworth throws a head kick that misses. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Higginsworth - that will leave a mark!

Higginsworth throws a front kick that sends Saint stumbling back into the cage. Saint stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Higginsworth. Higginsworth throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The fighters circle, before Higginsworth throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Saint's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Higginsworth lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Druida throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Thai forces Druida back against the cage and clinches. Thai using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Druida has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Thai manages to break the clinch.
Druida misses with an uppercut. Thai saw that one coming. Druida fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thai avoids it really well and circles away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A good leg kick by Thai. Thai lands a high kick!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guerra throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Conrado Guerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guerra tries a head kick but it misses.

Powel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Powel lands in his opponent's guard. Guerra preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Powel working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Guerra wants to get back to his feet but Powel is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Guerra is trying to control the position but Powel postures up.
Powel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Powel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Guerra is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Powel defends well.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Guerra avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Guerra lands a big head kick that sends Powel tumbling to the mat! Guerra takes a step backwards and waves Powel back to his feet - he wants the finish!
 It looks like Shifiinity Powel has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Powel avoids the head kick by Guerra.
Powel looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Powel trying to control but Guerra is working from the bottom. Guerra has momentary wrist control but Powel slips an elbow through the middle. Powel with a flurry of punches that miss. Powel trying to control the position from guard on top but Guerra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Guerra is trying to control the position but Powel postures up. Powel with a flurry of punches that miss.

Powel drops back looking for a leg! Guerra is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guerra manages to kick Powel off! Powel jumps back into Guerra's guard. Guerra keeping full guard, as Powel tries to pass.
Guerra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Powel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Guerra throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Powel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Guerra can't do much from the bottom here.
Powel has an Americana. Guerra didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Powel is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Powel hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Sotiropoulos tries to avoid it but Singh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sotiropoulos to the ground. Sotiropoulos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Singh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sotiropoulos but Sotiropoulos pushes him off and we're back to square one.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motta throws a hook to the side of Bates's head but Bates sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Motta lands a glancing blow to the side of Bates's head.
 It looks like Micheal Bates has been cut. Bates slips a straight right by Motta. Motta lands a nice hook to Bates's body. Bates takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Motta misses with a looping right. Bates shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Motta but Motta pushes him off and we're back to square one. Motta misses with a looping left. Bates bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Motta just misses with a punch to the body.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bates moves away from the strike by Motta. Bates ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bates uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Motta. Bates bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Motta smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Motta looks to throw the jab but Bates is out of range. Bates displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Motta throws out the jab.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Bates slips a jab from Motta. Motta tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bates was well out of range. Poor timing from Motta. Motta misses with an uppercut. Motta missing with a left hand there. Bates was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Motta ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Motta jabbing away but nothing is landing. Motta swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bates takes one on the button.
 That has opened up Micheal Bates's cut even more. Motta misses with an uppercut. Bates saw that one coming. Motta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Motta throws a shot from downtown. Bates moves away and avoids it. Motta sizes up Bates with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Motta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice defenses there by Bates. Motta throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Decent striking displayed by Motta there.
 The cut above Micheal Bates's eye is starting to cause him problems now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Motta looks to land a right hand but Bates moved out of range. Motta cracks Bates with a good jab. Bates ducks right into an uppercut from Motta. Motta swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bates is trying desperately to land a takedown but Motta is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Bates. Motta cracks Bates with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
 Micheal Bates's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Motta throws out a loose jab but Bates uses good head movement to avoid it. Ed Motta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bates defending well as Motta loads up on a big left hand. Motta swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Motta throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bates takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Bates moves away from the strike by Motta. A swing and a miss from Motta. Motta is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Motta throws a lazy right hand but Bates sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Ed Motta dominated that round. The cut man is working on Micheal Bates's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Motta looks to throw the jab but Bates is out of range. Motta thows a left - swing and a miss! Bates ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bates drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A telegraphed right hand from Motta misses the target. Ed Motta is winning the standup battle so far. Bates uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Motta.
Motta drops Bates with a beautiful combination! Bates stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Motta is looking for the KO!
 Bates is rocked!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Micheal Bates's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Simmons misses with a jab, cross combination.

That will dishearten Ortiz somewhat. Zako Simmons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thor Ortiz. Simmons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ortiz. Simmons fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Simmons lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ortiz circles away quickly and effectively. Ortiz takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
 It looks like Thor Ortiz has been cut. Simmons throws a nice looking combination but Ortiz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Simmons looks to score with a jab to the body but Ortiz is just out of range. Simmons misses with a wild combination.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simmons wants it to stay on the feet. Ortiz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Simmons sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortiz somewhat. Ortiz walks into a left hand.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! wells throws a body punch but Sparks moves out of range. Sparks throws out a powerful jab.
wells shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sparks's guard. Sparks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sparks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for wells on the ground. wells in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
