A nice inside leg kick there by Simpson. That's going to slow Wesker down.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jelani enables Kronic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jelani manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hunter.
Tucker moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Tucker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Tucker thows a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from Tucker misses the target.
Hunter blocks a jab.
Tucker throws an overhand right that lands on Hunter's shoulder, as Hunter tries to avoid the shot.

and Hunter counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Still in the clinch, Tucker scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hunter is trying to drag Tucker to the mat but Tucker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hunter has Tucker pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hunter pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tucker tumbling to the mat - Hunter dives into Tucker's guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hunter slips nicely into half guard.
Hunter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Hunter is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tucker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tucker shrugs it off.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hunter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tucker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hunter advances to half guard.

Hunter throws and elbow that misses. Tucker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hunter's guard. Nice move by Tucker!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tucker wants to stand but Hunter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Hunter is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tucker throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hunter's body to avoid the submission. Hunter has instead reached around Tucker's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hunter arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
