The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jack looking to score a takedown here. Matsumoto is defending well but Jack drives through and ends up in Matsumoto's guard.

Matsumoto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jack gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Matsumoto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jack defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jack stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A decent looking cross lands there for Jack.

Jack closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jack lands in his opponent's guard.

Matsumoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jack manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Matsumoto has Jack in his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jack gets to his feet - Matsumoto follows without any prompting.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lenny Jack.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hanzo Murasaki was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
