The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pironczeski wants to clinch up but Rambo keeps it at a distance. Rambo throws a combination. Pironczeski tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Fiotr Pironczeski has been cut. Rambo wants to clinch and Pironczeski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rambo is trying to stand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pironczeski is taking a breather. Rambo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Rambo is looking to escape. Rambo is not content to let Pironczeski control the position. Rambo is looking to escape.

Is there anything that Rambo can do to turn this around?

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Rambo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pironczeski to score an easy takedown into full guard. Pironczeski's corner is telling him to maintain position. Rambo wants to stand but Pironczeski is controlling the position.

Rambo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pironczeski paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pironczeski dodges the punch combination from Rambo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A solid leg kick lands there for Pironczeski.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reja can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koster has his foot on Reja's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reja works his way back into a safe position though. Koster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reja gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oddi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Alonso tightens his grip and picks Oddi up, before dumping him to the ground. Oddi manages to land in guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Oddi is looking to stand up but Alonso isn't so interested in that idea. Alonso postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Oddi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alonso is controlling him. Oddi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Alonso stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oddi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alonso works a leg free and moves into half guard. Alonso scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Alonso lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alonso wants to free his trapped foot but Oddi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Alonso seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Alonso working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Alonso working Oddi over with strikes.

You get the feeling that Oddi really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Crawdad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pontes swats him away and circles back towards the center. No joy there for Pontes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Crawdad doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Pontes counter with a right hand. Crawdad misses with a takedown attempt - Pontes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pontes looks to throw the jab but Crawdad is out of range. Pontes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crawdad moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pontes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crawdad.

Pontes connects with a body shot that sends Crawdad's belly button to the back. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pontes, as that shot connected.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Matos with a lazy takedown attempt and Grace counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Matos walks into a stiff left hand from Grace. Matos shoots in looking for a takedown but Grace manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Matos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nurse counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ramos thinking. Nurse tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nurse swinging wildly here.
Ramos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nurse counters with a body kick that stops Ramos in his tracks momentarily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ramos is defended easily by Nurse. Phil Nurse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Ramos. Nurse lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ramos looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nurse can pounce on him.
Nurse works Ramos's body with a nice hook. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nurse.
Ramos has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Nurse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ramos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nurse finds it's way round the side to connect with Ramos's head. Nurse lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Ramos falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
