I think Ochu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Clutch - The Incomparable Mr. Flannery. Gagarin has chosen Necro - Death Rap as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yuri Gagarin! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gagarin fails with the takedown and Ochu counters with a lovely shot to the body. Gagarin misses with a takedown attempt letting Ochu counter with a right hand. Gagarin tries to close the distance and clinch but Ochu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ochu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gagarin. Gagarin circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Gagarin tries for a takedown but Ochu circles away easily and Ochu counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gagarin thinking. Maester Ochu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Gagarin. Ochu lunges at Gagarin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gagarin's hand. Gagarin with a lazy takedown attempt and Ochu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ochu keeps the fight on the outside. Gagarin tries to clinch and Ochu counters with a nice body shot. Ochu circles away from the clinch attempt and Ochu counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gagarin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ochu counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gagarin misses with a takedown attempt letting Ochu counter with a right hand. Gagarin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ochu counters with a left to the body. Gagarin looks gassed! Gagarin tries to clinch up and Ochu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ochu scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Gagarin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gagarin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Ochu to counter with a crisp jab. Gagarin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ochu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ochu is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Ochu lands a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice cross by Ochu. Ochu lands with a good body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gagarin with a lazy takedown attempt and Ochu counters with a straight right hand. Gagarin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ochu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ochu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ochu cracks a nice hook into Gagarin's ribs. Gagarin tries to clinch and Ochu counters with a nice uppercut. Ochu lands a two punch combo.

Gagarin shoots and misses and Ochu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gagarin drops his hands momentarily and Ochu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gagarin moves to clinch but Ochu breaks away and Ochu counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gagarin misses with a takedown attempt and Ochu counters with a lovely straight right hand! Gagarin tries for a takedown but Ochu circles away easily and Ochu counters with a straight right hand. Ochu throws a shot to the body.
Ochu sizes up Gagarin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Gagarin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ochu counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gagarin is trying desperately to land a takedown but Ochu is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gagarin. Ochu lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gagarin is rocked! Gagarin fails with the takedown and Ochu counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Gagarin is still on wobbly legs! Can Ochu finish him? Gagarin gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ochu gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Gagarin is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maester Ochu! Maester Ochu seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.

Carioca uses the oldest trick in the book to send Dennis tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Carioca is absolutely delighted - when Dennis wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva dives in and grabs Nielsen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nielsen pushes down on Silva's head and hops out. Silva rushes Nielsen and presses him up against the cage. Silva wants to break free but Nielsen has control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nielsen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Silva quickly recovers to half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Nielsen content to control rather than advance. Nielsen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Nielsen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well. Nielsen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silva sees it coming and defends easily. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nielsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowers ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Bowers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva tries for a takedown but Bowers circles away easily and Bowers holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Bowers works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Bowers throws a big right hand that misses. Silva throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bowers wants to stand but Silva has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Bowers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bowers has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted. Bowers working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bowers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bowers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Bowers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bowers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Costa persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Costa slows the pace down in half guard. Costa seems to be looking for submissions.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobral changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Franklinberger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Sobral tries for a kimura but Franklinberger is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sobral is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Franklinberger has escaped the position, nice work there. Franklinberger really is a fat lump. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Franklinberger struggling a bit here. Sobral has hold of Franklinberger's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Franklinberger tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sobral cranks the arm and Franklinberger screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Franklinberger, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
