Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Wonder might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Hendricks has got the better of the exchanges. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stevens tries to clinch but Stelter is having none of it. Stelter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stevens motions for Stelter to come forward. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iron lands a glancing blow to the side of Konrad's head. Iron lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Iron slips a straight right by Konrad. Konrad connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Iron's hands. Iron takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Omar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Saotome avoids it really well and circles away. A combination from Saotome does no damage. No joy there for Saotome, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Omar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Omar works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Omar working away. Saotome sneaks back into half guard. Omar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Omar slips a nice elbow through Saotome's hands, connecting with Saotome's forehead. Omar scoring with strikes to the body and head. Saotome knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Omar on the ground. Saotome wants to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Omar landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Omar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saotome with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Omar slips a nice elbow through Saotome's hands, connecting with Saotome's forehead. Saotome really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Saotome has hold of Omar's hands but Omar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Saotome is rocked! Omar working over Saotome with some ground and pound. Saotome looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Oh Saotome is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Saotome tries to get to full guard but Omar has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Omar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Omar winds up and cracks Saotome with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ground and pound from Omar. Saotome is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Omar scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Omar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Omar lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Saotome! More strikes land and this one is all over! Omar jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
