The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Leis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gadget's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Leis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Leis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Leis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gadget is keeping the position for now. Leis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Leis's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Leis wants to control from the top but Gadget keeps moving. Leis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gadget trying to keep a closed guard but Leis is proving a slippery customer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gadget is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Leis is controlling him. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Leis slips a nice elbow through Gadget's hands, connecting with Gadget's forehead. Leis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gadget sees it coming and defends easily. Gadget wants to get back to full guard. Leis lands with a punch from half guard. Leis is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gadget! Leis cracks Gadget with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gadget is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gadget takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Leis's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Mark Layfield has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Layfield fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Layfield tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes. Nice shot lands for Jackson. Layfield looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Layfield persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing. No luck for Layfield with that takedown attempt. Layfield misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mark Layfield is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson is pawing at Layfield, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Layfield's nose. Layfield is badly hurt! Jackson pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Layfield tries desperately to hold on but Jackson is relentless in his assault! As Layfield receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Jackson away and this one is in the books!
