1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hern Vargas! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benditson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Benditson wants it to stay on the feet. Vargas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Vargas closes the distance and clinches. Benditson pushes off an throws an elbow but Vargas leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Benditson looking to slow down the pace here. Vargas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. A shot in the inside from Vargas. Benditson is breathing heavily. Benditson fails to pull guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Benditson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vargas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Benditson has managed to get both his arms back between Vargas's legs - danger averted.
Vargas manages to escape and get back to his feet.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas shoots for a double leg takedown but Benditson sprawls well. He's pushed Vargas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vargas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Vargas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Benditson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Benditson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vargas on the ground. Vargas laying and praying for a moment but Benditson takes advantage and regains half guard. Vargas is trying to control the action in half guard but Benditson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Vargas wants to advance to full mount but Benditson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Benditson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Vargas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vargas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Benditson, up you get!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Benditson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vargas smiles and moves away.

Benditson gets tackled into the cage by Vargas. Vargas maintains the clinch. Vargas taking a breather. Vargas is trying to break the clinch but Benditson is controlling him.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Benditson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Benditson tries to pull guard but Vargas won't allow it.
Vargas lands with a left to the head. Vargas tries to break free but Benditson pushes him back against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vargas has Benditson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Benditson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Benditson is staying active underneath Vargas, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vargas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Benditson's guard. Vargas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hern Vargas has got the better of the ground game so far. Sanny Korleone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Manuel Santos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Algenir Aguiar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Toddie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Aguiar. Aguiar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Aguiar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Let's hope that Aguiar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aguiar lands an elbow. Toddie is trying to escape the position but Aguiar is controlling the position. Aguiar creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Aguiar throws a strike aimed at the side of Toddie's head but Toddie avoids it well. Aguiar lands a nice forearm strike. Aguiar has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Aguiar is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Toddie will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that's the end of the fight! Algenir Aguiar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Aguiar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
