The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maxarashvili throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Maxarashvili looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Romeua shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Romeua showed some decent athleticism there. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Romeua winds up and cracks Maxarashvili with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Romeua working over Maxarashvili with some ground and pound. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vazquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Willis wants to clinch up but Vazquez keeps it at a distance. Vazquez tests Willis's chin there with a solid looking shot. Willis gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Willis uses his free foot to push down on Vazquez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vazquez. Willis controlling from mount. Vazquez is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Smith feints and as Boom raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Smith postures up in Boom's guard and throws a big left but Boom blocks it. Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boom is keeping the position for now. Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Smith controlling from the top position. Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boom pulls Smith in close to his closed guard and prevents Smith from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boom to the mat! Boom manages to get full guard. Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Smith controlling the pace for now. Smith raining down shots from the mount! Boom is breathing heavily. Smith punching from mount but Boom doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Boom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Boom defends it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith is trying for a kimura here. Boom looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Smith wins by kimura!

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bickleback manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
