The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haan pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pretorian misses with a jab, cross combination.

Pretorian has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Haan. Rick Haan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Blaze tries to work over Sakei's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Sakei is working for takedown but Blaze is calmly controlling the position for now. Blaze lands with a short shot to the head. Sakei is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Blaze works on Sakei's body with a couple of short punches. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A short body shot lands from Blaze as the two fighters clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Edgecombe avoids it really well and circles away. Edgecombe throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt and Edgecombe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gracie! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Edgecombe prevents Gracie from getting the reversal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Edgecombe thowing shots but they're missing. Edgecombe wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Purnu enables Akiyama to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Purnu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Akiyama with a nice head shot there. Akiyama looking to sit in guard and control but Purnu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Purnu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Purnu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Akiyama is trying to keep Purnu in close.
Akiyama has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Purnu is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Akiyama. Purnu cracks Akiyama with an elbow. That is naaassty.
