Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Donalds! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails to land the takedown. Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Donalds defends it nicely. Donalds scores with a three punch combo!
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Donalds, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Donalds against the cage but Donalds circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Donalds steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Donalds shows good takedown defense. Donalds misses with a hook. Donalds looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range. Jones moves in looking to clinch but Donalds pushes him off. Donalds moves into range and clinches up with Jones. Jones tries to pull guard but Donalds won't allow it.
Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Donalds avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Jones gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Donalds.
Donalds gets control of Jones's arms and successfully pulls guard. Donalds will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Donalds pushes Jones off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donalds takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Donalds works Jones's body with a nice hook. John Donalds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Donalds throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jones is rocked! Donalds gets a big slam - oh, Jones is out! Jones is out! That's a nasty KO!

Gordon looks to clinch and De La Boya counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Gordon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. De La Boya is stalling here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. De La Boya is trying to buck Gordon off. Gordon scoring with punches and elbows. Gordon lands a few punches from side control. Gordon taking a breather here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grant Gordon dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

De La Boya bucks Gordon off and manages to get back to his feet! De La Boya closes the distance looking to clinch and Gordon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Grant Gordon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

De La Boya looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Gordon looks for a takedown but De La Boya sprawls well. De La Boya rushes Gordon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De La Boya is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Gordon wants a takedown but no success here.

Gordon throws a right and a left that both miss. Gordon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says De La Boya as he avoids it easily. Vic De La Boya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant Gordon. De La Boya stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De La Boya wants it to stay on the feet. Gordon dives in and grabs De La Boya's left leg, looking for a takedown. De La Boya pushes down on Gordon's head and hops out. Gordon circles away from the clinch attempt and Gordon counters with a single leg into guard. De La Boya didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gordon tries to free his leg and advance position but De La Boya is retaining full guard. Gordon trying to control but De La Boya is working from the bottom. De La Boya wants to stand and escape but Gordon is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gordon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gordon trying to control the position from guard on top but De La Boya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vic De La Boya has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gordon won't allow De La Boya to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Grant Gordon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gordon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
