The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Key throws a head kick that misses.
Key throws a low kick, looking for Gene's leg but Gene calmly moves out of range.

Gene fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Key sprawls well initially but Gene persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gene seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Key does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Key has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gene is working away from the top position though.
Gene wants to lay and pray for a moment but Key keeps working.
