The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guererro misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Guererro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson. Guererro slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Guererro pushes him off. The fight moves into the clinch position. Guererro wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severn drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Yamamoto is trying to hold Severn in close to prevent damage but Severn has managed to pass into half guard.
Severn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Yamamoto is not content to let Severn control the position. Severn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Severn content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Severn thows a huge punch but Yamamoto dodges it nicely.
Severn sitting and controlling from the half guard. Severn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Yamamoto makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yamamoto. Yamamoto wants to sweep here but Severn controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Severn scoring with punches to the head and body. Severn lands a couple of elbows. Severn sitting in guard here, content to control. Yamamoto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Severn. Severn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Severn lands a couple of digs. Severn loads up on a big left hand. Yamamoto felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Severn looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Yamamoto can't hide his disappointment, as Severn celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Severn! Dan Severn made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I am an original mma heavy weight juggernaut you wanna roll with the beast your gonna get mauled!!!'.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthieu Saunier! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saunier tries for a takedown but Dolar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Dolar scores with a jab. Saunier acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Saunier is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Saunier shoots in for a takedown but Dolar shows good takedown defense. Saunier fails with the takedown. Tyson Dolar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthieu Saunier. Saunier tries to move into range but Dolar moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Saunier showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dolar.
Saunier drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Dolar lands a two punch combo.
Saunier is rocked! Saunier shoots and misses and Dolar counters with a crisp right that sends Saunier to the canvas! Dolar follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyson Dolar! Tyson Dolar is the new featherweight champion! A very excited looking Tyson Dolar rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torres keeps the fight on the outside. Torres tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lauren was well out of range. Poor timing from Torres. Torres shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Torres postures up and lands a big shot to Lauren's brow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lauren working for a triangle but Torres defends it easily.
Torres wants to pass the guard but Lauren is keeping the position. Torres connects with a couple of short punches. Torres with a flurry of punches that miss. Lauren is looking to stand up but Torres isn't so interested in that idea. Lauren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Torres on the ground. Lauren looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Torres puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lauren on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Torres winds up and cracks Lauren with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lauren has hold of Torres's hands but Torres slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Torres seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Torres lands with a punch from half guard. Lauren tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Torres manages to move to mount!
Torres tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Lauren is in a horrible position here. Torres smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lauren is trying to escape the mount.
A nice elbow there by Torres. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Torres scoring with strikes but Lauren is staying in there. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Torres cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lauren is rocked! Torres controlling the position easily from mount. The referee warns Lauren that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oh Lauren is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Torres is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lauren to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lauren shrugs it off. Torres controlling his opponent. Torres lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lauren hang on? Torres lands a big shot to the head and Lauren winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sonnen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramero as he jumps to the side. Chael Sonnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sonnen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramero swivels and escapes. This has been an exciting period of action! Ramero closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ramero prevents Sonnen from escaping the position. Ramero connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sonnen some visible discomfort.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hearns screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
