O Donnell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Crawdad looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matos takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lima throws a low kick but it's checked well by Matos. Matos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lima. Lima does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. Lima fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Matos checks it well. Matos has Lima up against the cage in a clinch.

Lima manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Matos has a takedown stuffed. Lima just misses with a punch to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lima scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Lima connects with a single shot there. Nice uppercut lands for Lima. That snapped Matos's head back.

Lucas Matos decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oddi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rossi sprawls well. Rossi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Oddi gets slowly back to his feet. Oddi clinches up with Rossi and pushes him back against the cage. Oddi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Rossi tries to score a body lock takedown but Oddi shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Oddi wants the takedown. Rossi is fighting it off but Oddi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rossi's guard against the cage. Oddi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rossi dives on top into guard. Oddi keeping full guard, as Rossi tries to pass. Rossi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Oddi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rossi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rossi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. No, Rossi has managed to get both his arms back between Oddi's legs - danger averted. Oddi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rossi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rossi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rossi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Oddi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rossi passes into half guard.

Maia displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pontes throws out the jab. Maia takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maia is defended easily by Pontes. Pontes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Maia's hands.
It looks like Demian Maia has been cut. Maia takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maia looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kurosaki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grace throws a lazy right hand but Augusto sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Augusto misses with a takedown attempt - Grace sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Grace on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Augusto slips a jab and a cross from Grace.
Grace tries to clinch up but Augusto circles away and keeps his distance. Grace throws the left hand but Augusto avoids the punch easily. Augusto moves out of range of the strikes. Grace throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Augusto throws a right and a left that both miss. Grace misses with a shot to the body and Augusto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Augusto.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Augusto with a flurry of punches that miss. Grace is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Augusto works a leg free and moves into half guard. Augusto is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Augusto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Augusto wants to free his trapped foot but Grace is holding on for dear life with his legs. Grace on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grace tries to get out of the position. Augusto scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buck feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nurses jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Nurse is looking to clinch but Buck is avoiding it.
Nurse slips under a jab from Buck. Buck throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Buck misses with a straight right. Buck keeps the fight on the outside. Buck throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nurse scores with a push kick. Buck avoids the head kick by Nurse.
Nurse avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Buck clobbers Nurse with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nurse uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Buck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nurse pushes Buck up against the cage in a clinch. Buck lands on the inside with an uppercut. Buck wants to break free but Nurse has control.
Nurse is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Buck is defending well for now. Buck is looking to break free of the clinch but Nurse has double underhooks. Buck is trying to break the clinch but Nurse is controlling him. Buck tries to work over Nurse's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Buck wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Buck misses with a hook to the ribs.

It looks like Tim Buck has been cut. Buck breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Buck misses with an uppercut. Nurse saw that one coming. Buck looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Buck loads up on a big right hand but Nurse slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nurse wants to clinch but Buck slips to the side and Buck cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Buck jabbing away but nothing is landing. Buck throws an off balance right hand
and Nurse counters with a head kick that drops Buck to the mat! Buck scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Buck is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nurse fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oh Buck is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Nurse looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Buck seems to have got his legs back now. Nurse wants to clinch up but Buck keeps it at a distance. Buck misses with an uppercut. Nurse saw that one coming. Nurse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A punch combination from Buck misses. Buck circles away from the clinch attempt.

Nurse blocks a jab. Buck throws a series of strikes that have Nurse backpedaling.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nurse looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nurse misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nurse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Buck swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nurse tries to clinch up. Nurse moves away from the strike by Buck. Buck is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Nurse wants to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Nurse looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nurse slips under a jab from Buck. Nurse uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Buck. Nurse moves in looking to clinch but Buck pushes him off. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Buck throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nurse tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Buck paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Phil Nurse will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Tim Buck's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Buck stalling in the clinch but Nurse improves position. Nurse creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Buck's defenses. Buck tries to break free but Nurse pushes him back against the cage. Buck is trying to force a seperation but Nurse has the dominant position. Buck is trying to push Nurse away but Nurse has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Nurse lands a knee to the body.
Nurse lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nurse is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. A frustrated look appears on Buck's face as he tries to break the clinch. Nurse connects with a knee to the head.

Nurse tries to clinch and Buck counters with a three punch combo that has Nurse backing up. Nurse nods at Buck to acknowledge the strikes. Nurse lands a nice looking body shot.

Buck misses with a left hand and Nurse counters with a slapping leg kick. Buck scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buck has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Nurse lands a damaging elbow. Nurse prevents a body shot from Buck. Buck tries to break the clinch but Nurse is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nurse lands an elbow inside that Buck shrugs off. Buck is trying to break the clinch but Nurse is controlling him. Nurse blocks a body shot from Buck. Nurse scores with an uppercut up the middle. Nurse putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Buck in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Buck wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nurse has him pressed against the cage. Buck is trying to break free. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A frustrated look appears on Buck's face as he tries to break the clinch. A nice glancing elbow lands by Nurse. Nurse drops Buck with a big knee straight up the middle! Buck is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Tim Buck's cut is getting worse. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Buck looks to land a left hand but Nurse moved out of range nicely. Nurse tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Buck throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nurse sees it coming and avoids it easily. Nurse tries to close the distance and clinch but Buck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Nurse! Buck is out on his feet! Nurse rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Buck is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Buck is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Phil Nurse decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
