Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jb Trent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Sabin ! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Sabin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Trent closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sabin to the mat! Sabin manages to get full guard. Sabin keeping full guard, as Trent tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sabin wants to stand but Trent is controlling the position. Trent trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sabin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Trent slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sabin keeping full guard, as Trent tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trent trying to control the position from guard on top but Sabin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Trent avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sabin fails in his attempt to clinch. Sabin wants to clinch. Trent swats away the attempt to clinch by Sabin . Sabin tries to clinch but fails miserably and Trent counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sabin working Trent over with knees to the body. Trent misses with some punches.
Sabin is working for takedown but Trent is calmly controlling the position for now. Sabin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Trent tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Sabin pulls Trent into guard.

Sabin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Trent throwing strikes from guard but Sabin blocks nicely. Trent with a flurry of punches that miss. Trent will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trent cracks Sabin with a solid left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Trent trying to control but Sabin is working from the bottom. Sabin pushes Trent off and scrambles back to his feet.

Trent wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trent pulls Sabin in close to his closed guard and prevents Sabin from doing any damage or advancing position. Trent is breathing heavily. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Sabin sitting in guard, not really doing much.

We're going to have a standup here because Jb Trent wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Trent walks into a straight right hand from Sabin . Sabin moves in looking to clinch but Trent pushes him off. Sabin has a takedown stuffed. Sabin fails with an attempt to clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sabin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trent swats him away and circles back towards the center. OK we're going to have a standup here. Michael Sabin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Sabin drives through and clinches with Trent against the cage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Trent has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sabin decides to pull guard. Sabin wants to get back to his feet but Trent is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Michael Sabin has got the better of the ground game so far. Sabin keeping moving, preventing Trent from controlling successfully. Trent working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Trent really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sabin tries to close the distance and clinch but Trent swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Trent loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sabin is trying to keep Trent in close.
Michael Sabin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Trent won't allow Sabin to get back to his feet. Sabin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Trent wants to control from the top but Sabin keeps moving.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jung fails in his attempt to clinch. Chiba shoots in and gets a takedown into Jung's guard. Chiba postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jung is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chiba, into his guard. Jung throwing strikes from guard but Chiba blocks nicely. Jung throws an elbow that misses. Chiba uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jung's guard. Nice move by Chiba! Chiba drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jung manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chiba has Jung in his guard. Jung wants to stand and escape but instead Chiba has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chiba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jung looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jung looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jung! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jung throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jung tries to stand but Chiba is controlling his head. Jung throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jung throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Chiba works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Li works over Alvy's head and body with a nice combination. Li moves into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Li takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Li breaks the clinch.

Alvy looking for submissions off his back. Alvy seems to have recovered his senses. Alvy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Li knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Krynn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Krynn closes the distance and clinches. Thomas blocks an elbow strike. Krynn lands a damaging elbow.

Thomas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krynn. Krynn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thomas throws out the jab. Krynn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.

Thomas cracks Krynn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Krynn fails in his attempt to clinch. Thomas throws a series of punches but Krynn avoids them all with ease. Krynn rushes Thomas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mangler forces Powers back against the cage and clinches. Powers holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Powers tries a body shot but Mangler blocks it.
Mangler misses with a hook to the ribs.

Mangler pushes off an throws an elbow but Powers leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Mangler presses Powers against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Powers blocks the elbow strike.
Mangler jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Powers walks away with a smile on his face. Mangler gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Powers lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mangler has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mangler and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. A telegraphed right hand from Powers misses the target. Powers scores with a jab to the jaw. Mangler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Powers but Powers pushes him off and we're back to square one. This has been an exciting period of action! Powers gets a clinch. Powers lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Powers lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Powers blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Powers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Powers fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mangler on the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Powers throws a jab when Mangler was well out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Powers. Mangler looks gassed! Mangler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mangler walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Powers checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Powers drops Mangler with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mangler looks back up at him and smiles so Powers waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Mangler is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powers with a body punch. A glancing blow. Powers throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Powers feints and then cracks Mangler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mangler down. Powers throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Mangler stumbling backwards into the cage! Mangler bounces back off the cage towards Powers, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Powers lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Powers celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Austin Powers! Austin Powers retains his heavyweight title! Our winner, Austin Powers, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
