1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Louis Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sangprathum swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rodriguez wants to clinch and Sangprathum connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rodriguez closes the distance but Sangprathum moves to the side enabling Sangprathum to counter with a crisp jab. Rodriguez looks to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Rodriguez tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sangprathum counters with a nice leg kick. Sangprathum throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rodriguez's head. Rodriguez swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Sangprathum drives through and clinches with Rodriguez against the cage.
Rodriguez using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sangprathum has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt. Rodriguez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rodriguez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sangprathum manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Rodriguez is looking to clinch but Sangprathum is avoiding it.
Rodriguez throws a leg kick that misses. Louis Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sangprathum closes the distance and clinches. Sangprathum gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Rodriguez jumps guard but Sangprathum stands there with Rodriguez around his waist. Rodriguez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sangprathum breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Sangprathum motions for Rodriguez to come forward. Sangprathum throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rodriguez tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sangprathum counters with a good, hard body kick but Rodriguez shrugs it off. A chopping leg kick lands by Rodriguez.

Sangprathum gets in close and instigates a clinch. Sangprathum lands an elbow that stopped Rodriguez in his tracks for a moment. Rodriguez tries to land a knee to the head but Sangprathum blocks with his arms.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rodriguez is struggling to control the position. Rodriguez throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sangprathum gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Sangprathum taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Rodriguez pulls guard. Sangprathum has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rodriguez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Sangprathum throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Rodriguez's body to avoid the submission. Rodriguez has instead reached around Sangprathum's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Rodriguez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Louis Rodriguez! A less than humble Louis Rodriguez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Peterson. A head kick misses from Low. Peterson scores with a one two! Low had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Low looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Low lands a really nice looking cross but Peterson seems unphased.
Peterson looks to land a combination but Low avoids it well. Low throws a lazy head kick and Peterson counters with a flying knee. Nice. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A leg kick checked by Peterson. Low closes the distance looking to clinch and Peterson counters with an inside leg kick. A low kick from Low misses and Peterson counters with an inside leg kick. Peterson throws a sloppy head kick and Low moves out of range easily. Low chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Peterson can pounce on him.

Peterson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Low misses with a body kick. Peterson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Low looks to land a combination but Peterson avoids it well. Peterson fails to land with a series of punches.
Low moves to clinch but Peterson breaks away and Peterson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Low throws a lazy body kick and Peterson counters with a head kick. That will keep Low thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Peterson moves out of range of the body kick. Peterson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Low's calf. Low throws a body kick the misses and Peterson counters with a good low kick that Low was not able to check. Low misses with a series of wild punches.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Low misses the shot to the body. Low throws a leg kick and Peterson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Peterson connects with a solid leg kick. Low shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Low tries to clinch but Peterson moves away and Peterson counters with a nice body shot. Low lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peterson circles away quickly and effectively. Peterson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Peterson lands a head kick!

and Peterson counters with a slapping leg kick. Low looks gassed!

Low tries to clinch up. Low looks to clinch and Peterson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Low really felt that one! Peterson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Low backs up against the cage.

 Low is rocked! Low throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Low is still on wobbly legs! Can Peterson finish him? Whack! Peterson lands a heavy head kick that drops Low. The ref tackles Peterson to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Low was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Hank Peterson! An out of breath Hank Peterson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.

Barnes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
An inside leg kick from Barnes misses. Barnes is looking to land body kicks. Shinjo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barnes was well out of range. Poor timing from Shinjo. Barnes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Shinjo. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Shinjo. Barnes shrugs it off though. A head kick from Barnes lands but Shinjo takes it in his stride. Shinjo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Shinjo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Barnes fails in his attempt to clinch. Shinjo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Barnes can pounce on him.
Barnes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shinjo circles away quickly and effectively. Shinjo throws a wild body kick that Barnes sees coming a mile off. Barnes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shinjo swivels and escapes. Some bone on bone action there as Shinjo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Shinjo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Barnes throws a head kick but Shinjo moves out of range.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Barnes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shinjo finds it's way round the side to connect with Barnes's head. Shinjo stuns Barnes with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shinjo misses with a wild combination.

Barnes attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Shinjo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shinjo wants it to stay on the feet. Barnes is breathing heavily. Barnes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Barnes walks forward, straight into a front kick from Shinjo. Sho Shinjo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shinjo misses with a body kick. Shinjo's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Shinjo duly obliges. Shinjo scores with a push kick.

Shinjo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Barnes's head. Shinjo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barnes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Barnes takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Shinjo connects with a leg kick. Barnes looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barnes avoids a punch combination nicely.

Shinjo catches Barnes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A left and a right from Shinjo both land. Nice combination. Johnson Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shinjo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Barnes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Shinjo closes the distance and lands a one-two. Shinjo lands a two punch combo.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shinjo feints a jab promting Barnes to slip. Shinjo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Barnes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Barnes avoids a punch combination nicely.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Barnes might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Barnes throws a head kick but Shinjo moves out of range.
Shinjo is working the combinations to good effect here. Barnes fails with a takedown attempt. Shinjo throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Barnes delivers a nice body kick. Shinjo with a hook. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A frustrated look appears on Shinjo's face as he tries to break the clinch. Barnes is trying to break the clinch but Shinjo is controlling him. Shinjo working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Barnes looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Barnes is trying to break free. A nice left hand lands by Shinjo.

Shinjo throws a leg kick which misses Barnes's front leg but catches the back leg as Barnes tries to avoid it. Shinjo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Shinjo bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shinjo lands with a nice body kick. A solid leg kick lands there for Shinjo.
Shinjo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Shinjo connects with a body shot that sends Barnes's belly button to the back.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo thows a body kick. Barnes tries to catch it but that hurt him. Shinjo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Barnes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Shinjo scoring well with a low kick there.
Shinjo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Shinjo throws a one two combo.

Shinjo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barnes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Barnes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Shinjo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Shinjo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barnes at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barnes takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Shinjo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shinjo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Barnes fails to land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight! Sho Shinjo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Shinjo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Kamara lands a left and a right that send Malaka crashing to the mat, dazed. Kamara thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
 It looks like John Malaka has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kamara throws a right hand that Malaka ducks under and follows up with a left that Malaka also avoids with ease. Malaka backs away from a small jab... but Kamara lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Malaka crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Kamara with a spectacular finish!

Beckman gets caught flat footed, as Alkofer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alkofer is in close to Beckman's body, working some short punches and elbows. Alkofer with a nice head shot there. Alkofer passes Beckman's left leg - he's now in half guard. Alkofer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alkofer moves into full mount! Beckman won't be happy about that!

Lang throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lombard on the side of the head. No joy there for Lang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lang tries to bum rush Lombard with a series of wild strikes but Lombard uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lombard drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Lang throws a series of punches but Lombard avoids them all with ease. A punch combination from Lombard misses. Lang misses with a jab, cross combination.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Lombard fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lang looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lombard cracks Lang with an open hand slap. A punch combination from Lombard misses. Lombard moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Lang takes a shot right to the bread basket. Lang fails in his attempt to clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lang misses the jab. Lombard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Lombard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lang was well out of range. Poor timing from Lombard. Lang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kisaragi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mayhem is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kisaragi. Kisaragi looks gassed! Mayhem controls the position from side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mayhem looking to control and managing it successfully. Mayhem seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Kisaragi is holding on tight.
Mayhem has control of Kisaragi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kisaragi regains control of the situation pretty easily.
